Today, went to start Roxie to take her for a ride. The wife turned the ignition key and absolutely nothing....doesn't crank over. When the car door was opened, no interior lights. Checked battery and it's fully charged. Tried to take car out of park and won't move to neutral.

HELP!!!!!!!
Any ideas on what this is?
I can't call the Ford dealer until Tuesday.

Thanks in advance.

Dave

Check wiring to see if maybe theres an obvious open somewhere, loose connections, etc.

I used to have an Expedition and this happend often on that platform, it ended up being the signal from the brake that wouldn't allow it to move out of park (IE you have to have the brake pedal depressed, and the car couldn't determine that it was).

Of course, now that I've opened my mouth, I can't explain why it won't start. I don't know, hope the brake thing is at least a start. Please post your results in case it happens to anyone else.

Unfortunately, it sounds like its time for a flat bed trip to the dealer's service dept. I hope it is nothing major.

If this gets posted twice, I apologize. Sent a reply but don't think it went thru.
Called the 800# after talking with the dealer. Tow truck came out and we went over stuff. He put the battery booster on and it was totally drained. I don't understand this because when I put the battery charger on it, it showed totally charged.
So, we boosted it, let it run for a bit and then shut it off. Tried to restart but nothing. Boosted it again and took it to the dealer for a check-up. They checked the electrical system and said it was good, the only thing being one of the cables to the battery was slightly loose.
They also checked the battery bleed rate and said that was good.
Thanks to all for the replies. Just glad that it wasn't anything serious.

Letting the alternator charge a very drained battery will take quite some time. I'd be a little leary of the battery, since the more times it is run completely down, the less life it has. Corvette owners have had this problem in the past and many have purchased Optima batteries to avoid the problem in the future.
