Glad to hear that there are some high mile 2005 Mustangs running around. I am the type of person who religiously maintains my vehicles. I never go over for an oil change, fluids are always checked and truthfully I don't beat on my cars much (ok... the Cobra I do but not my GT). My current daily is a 1997 GT that is 100% stock except a cold air kit and a borla cat-back and it has been an incredibly reliable car. In the 10+ years I have owned it the only freak repair was a heater core 5 years ago. I have driven the GT is the snow for the past two winters in several snow storms. I'm not going to lie and say it's been a dream to drive in inclement weather but snow tires and tube sand have made a difference. I may even drive the 97 a little longer, but I feel that with the new 2011-up 5.0 that I can get great value with a 2005-09 GT. I'd like to thank you guys for all your positive feedback. Since I have a free pickup truck for the next year I probably won't buy anything until this time next year.

Anyone know if Sync came on the 2005-09 Mustang? My sister's 09' Fusion has it so maybe the Mustang does too?

Also what year did Ford offer heated seats?

i believe heated seats were first offered in 08. I can't speak for Sync, but I can't blame you for wanting it. I had it in a rental Fiesta...such an awesome system.

I believe sync was either available late 09 or was available as a Ford accessory.

Heated seats were available starting in 07 in the comfort pkg. It also included a 6-way power passenger seat and auto dimming/compass mirror.

sorry if my comments are redundant, I didn't take the time to read the whole thread, but I went through similar logic about a year ago and my basic conclusions were:

1) get an 08/09 Bullitt or a 10 GT (if you can afford it, I don't know your budget)

2) it will be fine in the snow if you get good snow tires -- this I can confirm from my own experience here in Massachusetts last winter (it drives fine in the snow, the only real downside is that gray grime gets everywhere, including under the hood in all the little nooks and crannies and is nearly impossible to clean out once it gets in there)

My 08 has been great to drive and completely reliable so far. I had a couple of hiccups from the factory, but nothing huge.

-Had an issue with my key hanging up in the lock, dealer replaced the steering column under warranty.
-When I begin to drive the car after it's been sitting cold (40 degrees or colder) for hours, you have to shift into 3rd slowly or it'll grind. Several people on this board had the same issue, dealer never found anything wrong with it. I just realized I don't drive the car hard when it's cold anyway, so I learned to live with it.

08's did not come with sync or have it as an option.

Have an 08 with 70k on it no problems but you might want to put on an oil catch can plenty of oil comes from driver valve cover back to intake manifold not really good for the engine catch can will solve this otherwise great car low maint. 24-25 mpg highway 20-21 city. For winter put on the newer winter tires I run 225/55-17 yokohama ice guard winter tires they work great I drive it every day rain shine or snow.

I'm going to hold off as long as I can, but when I am ready it's either going to be a low mile 08-09 GT or is the price is right perhaps even a 10 GT. Im thinking that the earlier cars are getting a bit old, since I wont buy for another 18 months or so I think the newer the better.
