Is there a certain company that may make HID systems for Mustangs? The bulbs on the mustang are a 9008, and no after market company makes a bulb. I found this out with my 04 F150. It is a new bulb to the market that Ford decided to use, and any aftermarket company I have talked to said they have no plans to produce a bulb.

The truck I sold to get my 05 Stang.... http://www.f150online.com/galleries/....cfm?gnum=3975

Awesome truck. After I get my stang, I sure would like to get a DSG FX4 F-150 supercrew to haul around a mustang race car.

As for he bulb question..... but since the new F-150s have been around for a while, I'm sure there has to be some and for the mustang, well, we'll just have to wait and see. You might want to check out SEMA in november and your question might be answered.

Are you asking for an HID system or an aftermarket bulb? Because you need more than a bulb to do HID.

Unless you are going for the cheesy bright blue, HID wannabe look. Then it's a bulb swap for a few bucks and you can show everyone how, well, wannabe you are.

Read the notice on my Web site about HIDs... it's the reason you will not find aftermarket HID suppliers at SEMA.

I have this kit on my 1999 Mustang and it rocks! But, once my bulbs burn out (knock on wood!!) I have to revert back to stock, as no one (even me) carries replacements.

You know the Cobra GT-R? I was thinking buy two pairs of those Sylvania HIDs for Chevys, set them up one atop another and get that GT-R look with the HIDs... will cost a lot and must figure out if it's even possible... here's how the Chevy one's look:

Now somehow convert those to fit like this:

Yeah I miss that truck. Wow can't believe they made them illegal. What if you buy a kit that uses bulbs that the car manufacturers use (bmw, mercedes, honda) couldn't you buy a bulb from the dealership if it is the same number?

Although HID bulbs are coded like halogen bulbs (h3, h7, 9007, etc) ONLY to fit into the headlight casings like the OEM shapes, every company uses different prongs (or wirings) on the end of the bulbs to attach to their respective systems. This means a BMW h7 bulb is different from the Mercedes h7 bulb (HID versions).

PS- Ever see the M3 HID bulbs at night, so HOT and so blue!!!! See below:

HID into Halogen housings? NO NO NO NO - US DOT rules.

Basically, focus and glare are the reasons. Blue bulbs are also pretty illegal in lots of states, as well as the 100 watt ones too. Those 100 watters are damaging cars systems. Doesn't stop people from using them, until they get that ticket.

Don't do it. Just don't.

I've sold countless pairs of blue headlight bulbs and have never (evaaar) heard of people getting tickets for them. It's just a myth like "cops love donuts" (ok, bad example ). Just because you don't like HID doesn't mean EVERY luxury car company is wrong. HIDs look fine in OEM halogen housings, but people who can't afford BMWs have complained too much about all HIDs.

Like I say, once you've driven in a car with HIDs, you feel crappy driving a car with halogens.
