Hard to close driver door
Has anyone run into any door(s) on 05-up Mustangs that are hard to close? I have to basically slam the door to get it to close on the first try. Usually I lube the hinges with ATF but before I do that on the Stang, I would like to know if anyone has found a better solution.

Yes, the automatic window thing works properly. The problem is the door does not close very easily. I literally have to slam my door to get it to close and I do not like doing that to my cars. My 00 Crown Vic's doors close with a gentle touch. If I can't find an easy solution, I will just drop some ATF into the hinge rollers and maybe apply some extra grease in the striker latch.

LOL!
I remember a Bold Moves Episode where Mark Fields closes the door on a Toyota. He does a double take and opens the door and recloses it. The look on his face is sheer bewilderment. I'm assuming he's shocked at how easy it was to close the door on the Toyota. I can slam my driver side door shut if I close the door like I hate the car. I even went as far as "riding" the door shut by closing the door using the handle. Unless I apply a lot of force, the door does not shut properly and I don't feel it is "right". It should close very easily and on its own weight if given the correct amount of initial force.

I think the Doors are heavy vs others (my explorer), need s alil effort, Oh I hate when people slam my doors ( any car) My Explorer and T-bird close with lil effort, but people always slam them

I noticed that it was the window preventing the door from closing normally. The window (when rolled up) tends to hit the seal and slow down the door. If I roll down the window, the door closes VERY easily (on its own weight, etc...) It doesn't seem to be a lube issue after all.

Update: Recalibrating the windows didn't help. I recall that the driver's door on a convertible GT/CS at the dealership had the same problem.

Bummer...thought it might help. When I had my battery out for Valve cover painting I recall opening and closing the door and having difficulty due to no power to the windows. Hope you can find the fix.

Is the problem that the door isn't latching properly, or that it takes excessive force to get the door to swing shut?
My doors shut fine with just a little push. Usually just two fingers will do.

The window seems to push against the seal which causes it to slow down enough to not latch properly. With the window rolled down a bit, the door closes just fine.
