gt vs g35
A G35 doesn't weigh that much less than an early S197 Mustang GT. You didn't say if your friend's G35 was a coupe or sedan, but the curb weight for a 2004 G35 Sedan is 3336 lbs according to Edmunds, although options can take it a lot higher than the base curb weight. Curb weight on a 2006 Mustang GT starts out at 3488 lbs, and goes up depending on options. If you want to even up the weight disadvantage, run with 1/4 tank of gas and no spare tire. The extra torque and horsepower of the Mustang should make it the winner without too much question, although variables like the driver and what tires are on each car can have an impact on the actual results too.

The camaro has more horsepower than your mustang. Ive raced a few and i beat them all but my car is not stock. Ive seen the camaros walk all over the s197 stangs but it depends on the driver and tires and all the usual stuff. But stock vs stock the camaro should win.

You might be able to save some
Money on the delete plates if you modify your stock motion plates. I pulled the blades out of mine and welded the holes shut and smoothed them out. Then had them powdercoated the same color as my car. Only cast me about $100 to have the holes welded and smoothed out. But i am fortunate enough to know people that can weld those. Just and idea of something you could look into.

And you will need a tune or you will constantly have a check engine light for the motion plates being stuck open or something like that. It seems that almost anything that you do to the s197 requires a tune.
