When I put in my order back in July my dealer said they were having problems getting the computer to accept the 64E wheel code but were working on it and had contacted Ford about it and it should work in a week or two. After multiple calls and a couple of weeks I called another dealer and they said they too were having problems ordering the 64E's too. Both have said they can order me one just can't order the 64E's right now. I talked to my dealer again today and they said they still can't get it to accept but have ordered 3 GT's with 17" wheels and they think its a regional problem (live in Kansas City) and they aren't sure how long it will be (more weeks... or months). They suggested that if I wanted to get the order in to just go with the 17's.

Build date week of August 22.
Order date was 6/15

I'm not so sure I would make that recommendation, since Ford retuned the Mustang's suspension for the 18" wheels. If you order the 17" and change later to 18", you won't get the benefit of the retuned suspension.

I don't know how drastic the retuning is, but the ride difference with the 18's was enough for Ford to decide to retune. Just food for thought.
