When I put in my order back in July my dealer said they were having problems getting the computer to accept the 64E wheel code but were working on it and had contacted Ford about it and it should work in a week or two. After multiple calls and a couple of weeks I called another dealer and they said they too were having problems ordering the 64E's too. Both have said they can order me one just can't order the 64E's right now. I talked to my dealer again today and they said they still can't get it to accept but have ordered 3 GT's with 17" wheels and they think its a regional problem (live in Kansas City) and they aren't sure how long it will be (more weeks... or months). They suggested that if I wanted to get the order in to just go with the 17's.

Its got me frustrated all to heck, I wanted to order the darn thing early and It just keeps getting later... and later... and later. I'm just about to go with the 17" bullits and worry about wheels later, but I know I won't be 100% happy with it. Also, I've thought about ordering farther away and driving/flying to pick it up but trusting the dealers allocation claims etc and finding one to take an X-plan wouldn't be my first choice.

Has anybody else had any problems ordering the 64E's? If you have ordered, what is its status? Also, I thought the Ford website build and price was going to be updated around Aug 5 for the '06 and I was hoping when it was all bugs would be worked out for my order to go through, any thoughts on that?

FYI, ordering Vista Blue GT Premium 5spd with IUP and a couple other little goodies.

I ordered an '06 Redfire GT with 64E wheels on July 12. Got VOC and DORA the same day but still no VIN or build date.

I ordered from a dealer in La Grange, Texas. They did x-plan and have the allocation (I'm priority 10) but I'm afraid they're too small to get their orders pulled fast.

Ordered 7-15 DORA processed 7-19 and while I'm priority 49 (20 orders ahead of me) I found out today that mine should get scheduled sometime soon, as it is one of only a few automatics that my dealer has in the system. I have the 64E's. VIN# VHT82H 6 <---Is this a real VIN #? Total $27,937.85 (x-plan)

I don't understand why you're having the problem, unless Ford ran out of their available stock of 64E's already. If you think about how many threads there were about 64E wheels, I wonder if this could be another underestimate by Ford of it's popularity, like the IUP option was last year...

Mine is being built today, with 64E's.

I have an 06 being built this week with 64E wheels. According to our region's commodity report, the 64E wheels are at 19% which means for a particular dealer only 1 of 5 orders can have the wheels. That does not mean that Ford will not accept the order, just that they will not schedule it until commodities are available.

Only 19%? Then it sounds like another IUP SNAFU in the making... :bang:

That is the first seven of your VIN. You'll get the last ten digits when you are serialized.

That is what my dealer said, that he thinks Ford doesn't have the wheels in stock or some kind of problems along those lines.

My '06 vert with 64E wheels was confirmed as built yesterday. Hope to see it by end of month.

On a similar problem, I am having trouble because I ordered a manual trans, Ford pulled only the automatics from my dealer because they needed them for the verts. If it ain't one thing, it's another.

I ordered on 7/18 and changed my order around the end of July or early August. I haven't even received a DORA yet.

I don't think my dealer is small time either. Last time I went there, they had two Ford GT's on the showroom floor.

Last time I spoke to the sales lady on the phone, she did mention that my fanblades would delay the order...she suggested getting normal wheels and changing them later...but I declined. I didn't want to miss out on the tuned suspension package that you get with 18" wheels.

I ordered 64e wheels and my car should be here sometime at the end of the month. I ordered from Marcus Allen Ford so try them if you haven't already tryed and they take x plans last I checked.

David,

I was ordering through Blue Springs Ford and also checked Metro, both saying the same thing. Maybe I'll check Marcus Allen and some others to see what they say.
