It was bound to happen but today I got a tiny chip (less than 1mm) in my wind shield

A van in front of me kicked up a little stone which struck the hood which bounced onto my windshield.

darn it !!!!

Sally (my 05 GT) is not even 3 months old yet :bang:

The slow process of entropy and aging has begun. First it's the stone chip, next will be the door ding, and then the bumper scrape. Yep, yep, yep, like aging, these things are unavoidable.

Grrrrrrrr , weep, sob, denial, depression, accceptance

Same thing happened to me! Just hope it doesn't happen to the new pony.

Try calling one of those glass repair places.... they have a device they use that can repair the glass and make the chip disappear seamlessly. Luckily (I hope) your paint wasn't chipped.

Ya get a glass repair place to use the thing that injects something into glass chip that stops glass from cracking and also makes chip almost disappear.Ive had this done on my mazda truck a number of time (must be right height but always get chips) and it really works.

Not sure about states and other provinces in canada, but here in british columbia they give us like 3 free glass chip repairs a year with government run insurance (icbc) they told me it was cheaper for them to pay for repair then replace whole windshield, even with me paying the deductible....

No chips in the windshield yet, but I've noticed a few on the hood, and only a month old

As long as the windsheild doesn't have to get pulled out, you are ok. The chip repair is inexpensive and can be done most of the time.

That's why I have unlimited windshield replacment on my insurance policy....0 deductable. I had previously carried that insurance on my truck but never used it, I will on the stang though. Oh and the cost....negligible I think it's like an additional 5 bones a month.

It's far too common where I live in the desert with all the construction combined with the gritty nature of this environment.

I bought a kit last year for my Cavalier. Didn't work. That chip was right between my eyes. Scared the heck out of me when it happened.

I've got a small hair line chip in my '05, it's been raining so much lately that i don't notice it. Once it drys out I investigate getting it fixed. Actually, my car goes into the body shop in the next couple of weeks to repair the production problems (tweeked spoiler, dent under paint, weld mark under paint) I'll see what they can do.
