By the sounds of it, the GT could almost be considered a "rare horse", as they are, overall, very tough to find. I know they are supposed to make about 170,000 of them (GT and V-6), but I don't see it. From the VIN's I've seen so far, they are just around 100,000 built so far and many dealers have stopped taking orders.

If they do make 170,000, they must be filling back orders. I had a co-worker tell me the other day "I'm going to go down to the dealership and pick out an 05GT. But I don't know what color I want." I chuckled and told her good luck. Can you imagine - going down to a dealership and actually having the ability to look and choose? I'll bet there was not one dealership in the entire United States of America that had on GT in every color available on their lot at one time. However, that would have been freeking cool!
Don't kid yourself. 170,000 or 100,000 - either is a HUGE number. Civics are pumped out at around 150k - 200k a year. Just because it's hard to find doesn't mean it's rare... just that it's selling very well.

Now the '07 Shelby... that's a different story...

He's been straight with me. For about the past 4 weeks I have been put as the highest priority in the system. He said about 3 weeks ago that his Fleet Manager already told him that the rest of his Mustang orders would not be filled and they have been bounced from the system. The only two left were my GT and a V6. His fleet manager told him last week that at least one would be pulled. The V6 was pulled (like I didn't see THAT coming).

holderca1, sorry I don't understand your question. I want a Sonic Blue fully upgraded interior (but not the red interior), shaker 500, upgraded wheels and LIGHT TAN interior.

Are you sure you want the light tan interior???? I got it and it got dirtyl rather quickly(two kids will do that and spilling a thermos of coffee has that effect) my 2002 Altima also has light tan interior and has stayed clean, I was disappointed in how dirty it became, so I changed the seats to black, now I need to get black floor mats..just something to think about..

Well, I settled.

I found a used car with low milage on the internet for less than retail and purchased it. I'm just waiting on delivery.

It had a spoiler (which I'll have to have the holes welded up) and did NOT have IUP (it had the sport). But other than that it had everything I wanted (including the tan interior, and yes I want tan...my expedition has tan interior).

I'm talking with dealers now about getting the mycolor installed (some are so clueless "we don't have a book to tell us how to do it so we can't"). After that I'll probably put an aftermarket dash trim set on it and it will be exactly the way I want (until I get all the aftermarket upgrades).

I thought I would let you know that you guys were right and I was wrong. But I'm happy to be wrong.

EDIT: I found one dealer who had a used one like I wanted with 5K miles on it and wanted over retail for it. I couldn't believe it. I was talking to the sales manager too. Unbelievable.
