Ford Recalling 470,000 05+ Mustangs

I just read this on Autoblog

If you own an '05 - '08 Ford Mustang, watch your mailbox for a recall notice from the Oval in the coming days. It turns out that the NHTSA learned that the passenger-side frontal airbag could potentially deploy with greater-than-allowable force for a petite, unrestrained passenger. Over 470,000 of the ponycars qualify for the recall, with 435,000 of them located in the US. A dealer-performed software update will correct the problem. According to Ford, there are no reported injuries related to the issue, and the particular scenario in which the problem could manifest itself is rare.

How can you tell if your car is recalled other than waiting for a letter in the mail?

Post title: "Ford Recalling 470,000 05+ Mustangs"

I'm guessing if you add the remaining early orders from 2004 and recent orders in 2008, that will get us a "470,000+" figure.

So it looks like "if you have a 05+ Mustang, it is being recalled."

If you have registered on the MY Ford Web site the recall will be noted there.

Recall completed

I printed out the info on My Ford, yesterday morning, and stopped by the dealer, Jacobsen Ford, Sturgis, SD, for a minor mirror issue. I showed them the recall info, and they pulled my car up on the system, brought it into the bay and completed the update in about ten minutes. Customer service...you bet!

Yes, is this a concern?
If so, would a flash to stock prior to recall work and then a retune work?

Not bad in the scheme of things, just wish Ford would issue a recall about the spark plug issue.

I'll get mine done when it goes in for the fuel pump hesitation. That should be happening very soon, just need to do it on one of my days off. I'm waiting for the salt to clear from the roads.

Hey guys...I didn't see anyone say whether this "flash" would affect a modded car yet. A couple of you guys already had this done...did it affect your tune?
