Hi everyone. This is my first post, although I have been wandering around the forums for about a month now. You guys are the experts, so I figured I'd ask you my questions.

I recently bought a used Saturn, but as I was on my way home from work, another driver went through a stop sign and totaled my car. Now I'm in the market for a new car. I've been a life-long fan of the Mustang, but I could never afford one (I've been out of college for one year so far). Anyway, I saw the new design, and fell in love. But I have some questions about payment plans and discounts offered by Ford.

My uncle recently retired from one of Ford's design teams, and has offered to give me a PIN number to receive the Extended Family Discount. What kind, and how much of a discount is this?

Also, what type of payment options does Ford offer? I plan to buy an '05 GT, and put down around $10,000. Assuming the car will be between $25K & $30K, I will owe anywhere from $15K to $20K. I would like to know my options for paying off the remainder of this amount. Thanks in advance for your help, you guys are the most knowledgable people around when it comes to anything Mustang, so please, help me buy my Mustang. :worship:

Sorry, I have no idea what that means. I'm really not familiar with any of this. This will be my first new car.

Yeah that would be Z-plan (retiree discount). That is the same savings that is offered to exisiting employees and thier families (A-plan).

That discount depends on the vehicle you buy. I think I saved around 5 or 6k on my explorer and f-150s with A and Z-plan (I get both). The 2004 gt's I think someone said they saved around $3000 with A/Z Plan discounts. Should be close to that for the new one.

Negative JR, it will be the X plan, not the A/Z plans. He said his uncle, which does not make him immediate family, only his father/mother qualifies for the A/Z plans. The X plan is extended family, nephews, brother-in-laws, etc. You're probably looking at 1,000 or so off, Strider.

I saved about $3000 when I used A plan. I put $5000 down on my car... traded in my old SC2 Saturn, Ford gave me $8500 for it (waaaaaaaay more then the Saturn dealership was gonna give me) and paid off the car with $3500.

Oops sorry. I thought I read his dad and not uncle. Actually though A and Z Plan extends to more than just mother and father. Step parents, step grandparents and step brothers and sisters as well as grandparents who have the discount.

But your right, it is only x-plan. Sorry about that.

Theres also this page: http://www.paulmillerford.com/sales/pages/xplan.php

If you give us what options you want, we can probably estimate better as to what the price will be.

I've got D-Plan, and want everything except for the interior accent package and I'm sticking with a manual, so I'm figuring around $27,000. (Before taxes, title, etc) If you want similar, and you are doing 10,000 down, that leaves $17000. Year out of college normally I would figure about 5% interest, so I'll go high and do 7.5%. Say over 60 months, you'd end up paying 340 a month for the 60 months.

This will probably not work with any other plan or deal, but supposedly college grads WAC(with approved credit) get a certain amount....I think Ford does a $400 off new cars(excluding SVT and others).

I think that offer is good 24 months after graduation, but your X-plan sounds better though.

i wonder if you can do the grad discount and the x-plan? i'm technically eligible for both. i know the x-plan will be a much larger discount, but it would be nice if i could stack them.

Me too. I'll have to check with my local dealer about using both. I doubt they'll allow it, but hey, a guy can dream.

okay.. so to make it clear.. is this how it goes?
A,D,Z Plans are better than Z plan by 4%

A plan = D plan = Z plan = Noted on dealer invoice as A- Plan Price: (WSD + D& D + 1% Dealer Advertising + Transaction Fee)

Z plan = A/D/Z plan + 4%
