I'm wondering if the fog lamps "only"can be switched on without the headlights also being on?
I think this is a pretty cool look. I'm not sure if this is legal though for night time driving.
I had a '68 GT and I think they would only work if the headlights were also on.
Thanks

I think most cars now have it where they are able to work while the parking lamps are on. -They cut off when highbeams are on.

Ford's recent Autolamp switch allows the fogs to be switched on if the parking lights are on- at least this is true on my truck.

just another observation...without playing around in the fuse box, the fog lamps on a focus can only turn on when the headlights are on.

The fog lights on my '98 Ranger will not come on without the headlights being on. Maybe things have changed since then...

Intsll custom switches. So you can have the fogs running, fogs and headlights, or fogs and high beams.

it's a simple snip of the wires to get the fogs to come on by themselves. I was gonna do this with my current GT bit decided I like the fogs coming on with the parking lights and wired the aftermarket fogs into the stock fog switch.

in some places it is illegeal to have your fog lights on my themselves. that's why the current gen don't have the ability to just have the foglights on. things may have changed since then. but i rewired mine to go on individually and was told before i did it that some places have laws against it. could be bs though :flag2:

I'd rather have the headlights as my daytime running lights.

Both my 00 and 03 Lincoln LS and my 01 Mustang GT allow you to have the Foglamps on without the headlamps being on. But the parking lights must be on. I belive that federal law says that the foglamps cannot be on alone, the parking lamps (including tail lamps) must be on when the fog lamps are on.

Id think you have to have the headlights on for the fogs to work
