Hello all , been busy and away from this site for little while, so I see I have a lot of catching up to do. Last weekend I drove up to the NC mountains on the blue ridge parkway. It was my first trip in my torch red 05. I must say she didnt dissapoint me. My son and his friend Mark came with. Mark was kind enough to ride in the back most of the 10hr drive. The hardest thing he said was getting confortable with the center hump. He sat sideways and managed to get some sleep.
The 05 got 23.5 MPG most of the time as long I kept it at 80mph or less.I was really happy with that and regular gas to boot.I average about 18 around town.

The fun time was carving up curves on the blue ridge parkway. Unfortunately the day we drove on the mountains was foggy and overcast so I couldnt wind her up too much, that and I didnt want mark to get car sick in the back seat. Still got to enjoy some 60mph curves. I dont know about magazine car tests and slalom numbers and all but this car handles the curves as fast as I want to go. It may not be an RX8 or BMW but it handles to curves well enough for me. I totaly enjoyed the trip. I was also impressed with the trunk space. Three or four bags a cooler and room stil left. Funny I got her in Dec 04 , she was my christmas gift, and I still dont have 7,000 miles on her. I drive around town and I dont live but 15 minutes from my work. Just thought Id see what kind of gas milage you all are getting.

Sounds like fun. I've only had mine for about a month, but I've already taken a few 250+ mile trips (gotta show her off to my friends, ya know?). My trips were pretty boring roads though...all straight, no curves.

My car is still very new...2200 miles. I get about 14 in city and 19 on the highway. Sucks, I hope it gets better soon. I do drive somewhat aggressively though.

Thanks for sharing.

I have been averaging about 22 mpg. Mostly highway.
I am not very timid with her either. I drive no less than 80 and when the kid in the grand am wants to play I'll push the century mark for a second or two.

I have observed the same thing with cornering.
I am more impressed and actually a little surprised at how well this car goes through the turns.

Out by my house there is a loooong sweeping curve that the posted sl is 45. In all of my vehicles I take it between 45-50. With the stang I once caught myself at 70. This car blows me away.
