06' shaker
Hey i was just wondering if anyone has an 06' mustang with a shaker 500 or 1000 system and if you have had any problems with your mp3 player..saying bad cd...I dont have any problem if i just burn a cd and play it but everyonce in a while on the mp3 disc it will say bad cd...but then it will work alil bit later
Shaker 1000 in my '06. It kicked out one CDRW so far, but it may be my fault as I may have forgotten to finalize the CD. No skips so far with the other 5 CDRW (verbatim brand). I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
My 2003 Explorer Limited had a 'top of the line' factory system in it. It was a 6disc in dash changer with DSP processing. I say *was* because I yanked it out real quick after it kept making me go insane. The DSP worked great but the changer was horrible. Once in a while it would get CDs stuck in it and constantly make noise and the whole radio would operate slowly (pushing buttons slow response). I got it replaced, the first time, and had the same problems with the replacement. Would happen no matter if it was a brand new CD or burned one. I don't trust Ford radios anymore, which is why my new 06 GT will have the base radio only.

RW discs have even lower reflectivity, and a lot of players will not play them. You will have better success with write-once discs.
ok, for the first time getting my new head unit it just shot out an mp3 disc. I burnt the cd last night, put it in the head unit and then it ejected it with the famous "Bad Disc" error. I then loaded it again and have had no problems since.
yea thats what mine will do...so since it plays regular burned cd's just fine thats not really a big deal to me if the mp3 thing sometimes does that i mean yea its alittle anoynning but for the most part it works...
adrenalin.....your saying that this just happened with your new unit you just got installed by ford ???

Turn your burner's speed down to 2x or 4x. It will be read easier by the Ford player.

I have problems trying to play mp3s on a CDR in my Shaker 1000. It worked when I first got the car, but now, with the same CDR, it keeps saying Bad Disc. Why would turning the burning speed down change anything?

Mark, if it is a RW disc I do not think it CAN be finalized.

I intend to use CDRs for the final copies. I just didn't want to make them until I decided on what databit rate I'd use. So far, I've used Nero to go as low as 80 kbits with no appreciable loss in fidelity (at least, not that I can hear with the top down!)
