FIRST INSPECTION DUE
hi all i am a long time reader, first time poster here, but thanks in advance for your help.i have an 05 GT premium thats due for its first inspection in 2 days. only has 1700 miles on it but i've had it for a year now. so far i've had no probs w/it but i dont drive it enough to really find any. is there anything i should have the dealer check for or any specific things i should ask them about during my routine inspection. i noticed on the forum alot of problems, missing parts, etc.. need some input asap. thanks,

1700 miles??
You don't even need an oil change yet! I've had mine around 6 months and already have over 7000!
Anyhow, unless you've noticed anything unusual - sqeaks, noises, etc., I think you're fine. Inspections are based on mileage, not time, so who told you that you need an inspection with only 1700 miles?

Welcome to the forum. You are due for inspection already  . If you don't mind me asking, what state are you in?
I would have the oil changed anyway eventhough it is only 1700 miles. The oil is a year old so go ahead and change it. As far as looking for things that are wrong search through the TSB database on this site and see if any of the things mentioned are afflicting your car. If so let them know and they will fix it. Other than that, inspection should be routine on a stock car. Just go out and enjoy it a little...add some miles, that's what it's for B)

Yes what he said. Oil is time or mileage whichever comes first. You need an oil change. Time affects all things too. An extreme case for example is like the '82 Malibu my grandma had with 5000 miles on it. Sure, it had only 5000 miles but everything on it was aged 20 years and anything rubber pretty much had rot on it from not being used frequently.
Go for a long drive and stretch your pony's legs
Thankls for all the input but, I live in Pennsylvania and you must get your car inspected every year regardless of milage. Also have to get it tested for emissions every year too , however if you have less than 5000 miles per year you are exempt from emissions testing, but you are still required to pay for an exempt sticker....anything to get your money ,you know! well appointment is today , i'll let you know what i find out. thanks all!
We have 2 year inspections on brand new cars here in TEXAS.
So I dont have to sweat my lack of a front plate for another year.
Its so new it should sail through an inspection. No worries man.

Your state requires a new car be inspected the very next year? Wow, my state gives new cars a 2 year sticker.

Wow, every year you need to go for inspection. Here in NJ we have 4 year stickers.

yes thank god. thats why im gonna start modding now. NJ can be good for something!!
here in Washington there are no inspections...ever, and a weak emissions test after a few years just to get some money out of you, after 25 years, no emission test at all and you can get a collector plate for a one time fee, then they never wanna hear from you again!
