Don't know if this has been posted or not yet. But Guess we can put the kabosh on any ideas of these being remotely available for Sticker! They've actually given a bid of 15,000 over MSRP already with 4 days to go! YIKES! :nono:

how can they even be taking cash for an order now? the order banks havent even been opened up, so that would be very false promises, major scam

Yeah what's even worse is they want a $5000 NON refundable deposit at the end, then another $5000 in 30 days, plus the money over sticker you are agreeing to at the time of order. So basically as it stands now you're putting $25K down just to order?! I can't believe there are people out there guliable enough to put that kind of money down on something that can't be guranteed yet. CRAZY!

Hey, I'd bid $100,000 over invoice for the exact car in the pictures. Oh, what do ya mean I don't get the original show car. I don't want it then.

You are so true about that. When a new vehicle comes out, we WILL NOT take any money until the order guide is available, which states the car is for sale. The car is technically a concept (we all know its coming) but still a concept. For a dealer to take money on this is flat out wrong. Even Ford Motor Company, when they issued the letter regarding allocation, stated that they DO NOT WANT dealers to take any money on this car yet. Some places just don't care about customer service, and only care about the all mighty dollar. This dealer gets a :notnice:

It may be a it premature. But I've dealt with this dealer before and bought my 05 GT from them. There good people at Miller Ford. There not a high pressure tactic dealer and have a very high reputation here in the tri-state area.

Also your bidding on the rights to order the car and the total 10k goes toward the car.

How there bidding a car thats not availible yet......donno

But I'm giving them a call and see if I can get more info.
I'll post there response...if I can get one.

i think it`s a joke that ford is cutting corners to keep sticker around 40,000.When dealers are going to chargeGOD ONLY KNOWs HOW much over sticker.i saw the concept car at ny auto show.the more recent pics i see alot of cost cutting.(painted stripes- tape. leather dash -stock dash,19in wheels-18 in). Why don`t they make a $60,000 car + sell it at $60,000.Well , they could charge 100,000 and sell all 7500.
i guess that`s supply + demand. i went to svt dealer about 3 months ago + the guy was crying because he hear all dealers there going to get at least one.not just svt dealers.does anybody know if this is true?

Read again:

"YOUR BID IS FOR THE AMOUNT OF MONEY THAT YOU ARE WILLING TO PAY OVER THE MSRP OF THE VEHICLE."

Acutally 15K over invoice is not bad, at all. I have talked with a number of dealerships about this vehicle, and most dealerships EXPECT to get 20 to 25K over the MSRP, which should put the car in the 65- 70 K price range. Those of you who are familiar with the Dodge Viper, will likely see the same results here. A 40 K car selling at almost twice its Value. Hey if there are people out there who will pay that much money for it. Its a Shelby, so it will have some value in a few years. For the rest of us, well we can appreciate how much they are getting ripped off.

Correct and the amount that your willing to pay (if it's the winning bid)gives you the right to order the car.I said that .

A $5,000 NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT IS DUE 48 HOURS AFTER THE END OF THE AUCTION, AN ADDITIONAL $5,000 IS DUE WITHIN 30 DAYS OF THE END OF THE AUCTION.AND THE BALANCE IS DUE UPON THE DATE THAT WE SUBMIT THE ORDER TO FORD.

The balance due would be minus 10k of what ever the total winning bid was.

Say winning bid was 100k.When it's time to send your order you'd owe them 90k.

All dealers will be given an opportunity, they will have to fulfill the requirements to be SVT certified (there may be franchise fees included) to get an allocation.

Any dealer who would go straight to Ebay to start a bidding war more than 6 months before the car even came out has to be suspect. I understand we live in a free market economy but come on......

Don't be so sure that the "new" Shelby we be as valuable as the orginal Shelby, like mine. Personally, I don't think that they will ever have the same value as the 60's era.

I would consider to buy one at MSRP, not a penny more!

I wonder if there are "shills" bidding on this trying to get a sucker to bid? Most the people bidders have very low number of transactions used in their e-Bay ratings. Hmm...something seems fishy to me.

Man, I guess they figure there's a sucker born every minute, and I guess there is. Trouble is, if you're a dealership, and this is how you conduct business...then you have NO business acumen, IMHO. They might as well hang a big banner outside their dealership that says: "DON'T BUY FROM US, WE'RE CROOKS!"

Plus, we haven't even seen the final car yet...and there isn't even any DEFINITIVE proof that the Shelby will come to term, so dealers like this are full of moose scat. :moose:

I think dealers are SEVERELY overestimating their expectations for this car. Only complete fools are going to pay $15 - 25K over sticker. Fools and their money are usually soon parted, so I doubt there's that many fools out there with that kind of money to throw away. Remember, too, if gas hits five bucks a gallon (or more) that will eliminate some potential buyers, too.
