Back on topic,
When I ordered mine, I waited 5 months. The car came in just like I wanted except for the spoiler delete. I figured, a free spoiler is something I could live with, considering how difficult it was to find 5 speed manual GT in the color/interior combination I wanted.

I deleted the spoiler myself, but now I'm seriously considering painting it flat black and putting it back on.
Touche', good sir, touche'.

The weird part about it is that the Vehicle Order Confirmation I got from the salesman did not correspond with the data sheet dealer showed me. And what's making it more complicated is that the salesman I deled with when I ordered the Mustang is out of the running for a while (recuperating from chemo treatment). ...
Just out of curiosity, did the vin numbers match. When I ordered my GT in November I went back to the dealership for a copy of the DORA. They provided me with a multi-listing printout showing my order with my name appended, followed by all the options I ordered. It also included the schedule date which I confirmed later was the actual build date.

You need to check back with the dealer as they should have this information within a week of sending in your order.

I wanted the plain GT in blue, nothing fancy, no options...

I ended up with the Premium and a bunch of stuff i didn't want and got it for the same price as what i did want (a plain GT)...

In the end, I like it more than a plain GT that I wanted them to find.

spoiler and different dash covering...

I cant see why you cant live with those two options (just tell them you dont want to pay for them since they were not asked for in the first place)... it's not like the car came painted Revlon Red with Pink stripes and a ricer wing....

haha

I would just re-order the car. With your salesmen being out, there might have been some mixups and possible mistakes by the order clerk, you're probably upset but mistakes happen. Tell them its not what you ordered, and you would like to re-order the car as per your specs, then make sure when they give you the order confirmation it matches exactly with what you want. Also - make sure your options don't conflict with each other, certain things can't be ordered with other things.

I was sent a survey from Ford about my dealership. It was about customer service, the deal you got and how they handled all the paper work. I was fortunate and the Mustang I wanted was on the lot with 1.5 miles on it.
I hope you get a survey so you can tell Ford directly about your unfornate experience.
In six weeks it will almost be spring time and you will surely get in some cruizing. You are far more patient than most folks would be.Good luck! Ogre

Wait and get the car you want. Another 11 weeks may seem like a long time, but in the long run you'll be happier.

It's your hard-earned money, after all.

EDIT: Ah, I see you did. All sounds pretty fair to me. Enjoy your car when it arrives.

I would urge you to ask them for a copy of the DORA as you go through this round. My salesperson caught the mistake of the person who actually entered my order in the system and noticed that "spoiler delete" code was not there.

Good luck!

I would settle for that... with the DEALERSHIP. The dealership probably isn't making enough to take a hit on the order.

I would get RIGHT on the horn with Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, and speak to them about what THEY'RE going to do for THEIR mistake. Sounds like your dealership didn't have much to do with it.

The Charcoal dash panel is worth the wait in the long run.

I'm not a big fan of the aluminum siding.

I have to agree, I had the silver IUP in my last stang and it was nice, but I have seen the Dark IUP on a few Stangs and LOVE it, a stereo mix up a wheel mix up, then I would seriously think about it but if you want the Dark IUP you are better off doing what you did, you spend alot of time inside the car so it's better to get what you want. Can't wait to see the pics!

You can always have them give you like free services, or extend the warranty, and have them remove the spoiler and fill holes, repaint at the dealership, and have them oreder the dash for you

It could have don that, but the part I don't like about that is is that the Window Sticker won't match the car anymore. Not that I want to keep the car stock. But I want to modify the car from the point that I want. And the spoiler is not part of the mod’s I have in mind. And like Vistablue Mustang (and also others) already sad, I hope to spend a lot of time with and in the car. And I don't want to be sitting behind the wheel and thinking that I actually didn't want the dashboard to be that color, or looking up through the rear mirror and thinking that I actually didn't want the spoiler I'm looking at. Just because of the salesman/dealer who didn't take care of what I had ordered. And I'm not a millionaire. I'm not spending daily, weekly, monthly or every year this much money on a car.

It's also a principle. When I, as a project manager in the construction business, make a mistake I need to take care of the problem that's caused by my mistake. I'm taking the responsibility and need to take care of the problem whatever it takes. Why would a car salesman not be responsible for his mistake and compensate his costumer? To me, it's just part of his job.
