The same reason we are all afraid to go to Montreal?????

j/k....its very nice, I've been there. My mother was born there as well.
haha, good points. but we're so far away from the hockey season!
But seriously, they should show off the mustang here, cause all the F-bodies used to be built here, so ford should really rub it in. That plant seems to be empty now, they could probably rent it out and hold a special '05 mustang show off event in the parking lot or something.
Montreal's a great time in the summer cause we have so many festivals. GM sponsors the Jazz Festival which brings in about 2 million visitors or something crazy like that, so we all get to see plenty of Chevy Equinox's and Rendezvous on display, oh baby.
Ford sponsors the FrancoFolies Festival which is a much smaller french music festival, but i'll have to check it out to see if they've got an '05 on a stand somewhere.
Was there any talk about how soon after the US gets the stang we can expect to see it on Canadian dealers?

Only 430 vehicles will be built for Canada, not even one per dealer. Then there will only be 1900 built for Canada for December and January.

Great job guys on report to us more on 05 Mustang.
Is that Lime Green GT a production Mustang or is it a preproduction Mustang GT?

Every piece on it is a production piece.. they are currenlty doing a pilot build of 100 cars, with a run of 50 already built. this car was built only a few days before the show. Apparantley a lot of these pilot build cars will be "media cars" for testdrives, etc.
Thanks,
Looks like me and Brad will drive the media Mustangs for the Mustang press B)

did you get to ask HTT about a possible ducktail?
we forgot about it and only realized later...
we ran into him outside, but it was too crowded and he had too many other commitments to bother him again.
Exactly. Steve and I talked about asking him outside but felt that we were taking too much of his time.

Forgiven...LOL
At least it's good to know it was on your minds, thanks guys for the great article.

I think dealers will have one or two on the lot for show and not for sale, but I doubt orders will start rolling in before Nov.

looks like small-town dealers won't see as many cars in the first run in Canada

The 18” wheels will be delayed until MY2006. This is because equipment at AAI is not currently capable of handling the 18” wheel package.

AAI - Auto Alliance International (i think thats what the 'i' stands for )
Flat Rock Plant
Joint plant for Ford/Mazda
Where the new mustang is built
(the pre05s were built at the DAP (Dearborn Assembly Plant)

OK, then that confirms that Ford dropped the ball. With a 2" taller tire than the previous 10 years of Mustangs, the tall tire will make the cars wheels look small. Ford should have planned to run 18" wheels on the GT's as rolling stock, not an option.
I bet within 3 years we see Ford move to 18" wheels as GT standard equipment when they see how many cars get ordered with them. The 17" wheels should be only optional for V6 equipped car, as the V6's are usually driven more by people less concerned about performance, but like the look and feel of the Mustang.
At least we know that there are no mechanical or braking issues that will prevent a 2005 Mustang owner from upgrading to custom/aftermarket 18"+ wheels, which many have expressed interest in doing.
I was thinking about getting an '05 Mustang, but I may wait an extra year to get more goodies for my money on the '06.

How did Ford drop the ball on having a taller tire?
All this talk about it being taller, skinnier etc...
Well the car will handle well (235s aren't bad)
they are all season sport, which some people may not like because of course they are racing their cars 1320 feet to work in under 14 seconds
And the taller tire fills the gap, while being a mustang that will WAY outhandle previous generations on wet, dry and snow...
Yeah, thats dropping the ball.

The dealer I ordered from said they were allocated 5 for the first run. I was the second order for them, so they only have three left.
