engine using oil

so every 2-3000 kilometers the engine needs 1 litre of oil. (twice now) i have known this problem for a wile now but the car sits in the garrage and hardly gets used, so have not taken it in just yet. Still under warenty too..

had to use the car yesterday in the crappy weather as the truck was being serviced. The engine went into limp mode reducing power, so i parked the car turned off the engine and started again and was back to normal. It's was snowing, could be the weather?

the engine runs strong and sweet all the time.

i know it's hard to say but any clues guys? before i take her into the dealer.

thanks!

As far as the oil , I've had my car since Nov 04 and have just over 40K miles on it. I check my oil level just about every weekend and I've never been down even 1/4 of a quart ever between oil changes , which I do about every 5k miles. If you're having to add a QT between changes , something is wrong ? The force limited power mode is when the computer detects something it doesn't like , like the car making too much torque. When I was NA it happened on cold mornings and I would get DTC's telling me it was the torque management program. Now that I have an SC it happens when I get spark blowout and there are no DTC's with that. Have you checked to see if you have any DTC's ...
