I went to my locla Ford dealer today (in McMurray, PA - south of Pittsburgh).

I've read on here that some are real close to getting there cars. So I go to the dealer and I'm greeted at the door by a salesman and I start to ask him about the '05 Stangs. He goes on to tell me that they will not be available until December at the earliest. But then mentions the great deal I could get on an '04.

I'm not going to argue with the guy - not in the mood. So I politely nod my head as he says his speech. I thanked him for his time and started to leave. As I'm half-way out the door - he goes, "let me get your name and number - and I'll call you when they arrive." I give him my name and number, then leave......

......can't wait until he calls in a week or 2 to say they're in!!!!!!!

no big news - just wanted to share my experience. oh, and I did learn that it is time to find a new Ford dealer!!!!

Perhaps the saleman does know what he is talking about.

For example lets say this dealership was allocated 2 2005 Mustangs, in the intial allocations.. If these two Mustangs are already sold, they might come in a few weeks, but they are sold so therefor don't count.

It may be December before he anticipates getting any 2005 Mustangs that are not presold.

Not all salesmen are dumb, however...

On this site alone, Kev and BEK break the salesman incompetence stereotype.

Product knowledge is a glorious thing.

You guys should seriously think about buying from Kev or BEK. I flew to Florida from PA to buy my Mach 1(before I knew these guys), and will definitely not hesitate to see either of these guys for my next car.

With all of the help these guys have provided to us here, I think that it is well worth considering.

That is so right. Unfortunately, I ordered my car before I was aware of the site/Kev; and I am not that far from his dealership. Timing is everything.

It has not been much fun dealing with a dealership that takes no interest in its own business, knows nothing about the car, and simply wants to take order, not communicate or show initiative, and collect check.

I was not really cynical about dealerships, having been able to manage reasonable results in the past.
