Question

I know these really don't belong in the 05 Forum but I just had to share these.

I found a casualty of Hurricane Frances, here in Central Florida. I can't even imagine how I would have felt if this was my car, let alone my 05. Well, you could always look on the bright side, they can take the money from the insurance and put a downpayment on an 05.

We had 3 Oaks about the same size as this one, fall but No Damage, I also got my Thunderbird Buried to the Axle in Mud trying to avoid the fallen trees, the Night the Eye passed over us. We didn't have Electric or Water for 5 days. That's how I found this sad site, I was on my way to my Mom and Dads to clean up. I sure am Glad Ivan turned away from us, cause Frances was only a Tropical storm when it hit Tampa and it messed us up pretty good. I really feel for all the people who lost loved ones and their homes. The people who live on the road behind my Mom and Dad got Flooded Really Bad. A Couple Hundred houses, alot completly under water.

Ahh, an optimist. Gotta love it.

I was in Tampa for the arrival and departure of Frances. It was my scheduled leave for househunting prior to my arrival in December. I stayed at Sailport on Westshore Drive.

Good thing the hotel is on stilts because the beach that WAS 200 yards away, ended up being under the hotel!

I did end up finding a house......in Valrico. Can't wait to get back to the states and pick up my 05 in December!!!!

A "little" off topic, but I can't stand that I live in Chicago where nothing disastrous happens while people in Florida on-the-other-hand (those nearest the coast particularly), have homes, cars and other stuff destroyed every 7-10 years due to hurricanes. I think it stinks that insurance lets them rebuild and rebuy all those homes and cars each time, but LIVE IN THE SAME PLACE WHERE IT HAPPENS AGAIN (and again and again).

All car insurance would be much cheaper if it wasn't for states like Florida and Kaleefornyah (thanks Governator! lol)
