Airaid CAI
Pros:
Looks OEM instead of "Home Depot plumbing department" like most other CAI's.
Same power gains as the popular "Home Depot" style CAI's.
Cons:
None

SCT X-cal2
Pros:
Love the extra little "pep"
Cons:
Expected more than 18 hp
Only a small improvement in throttle lag
RPM's are still slow to drop when coming out of gear.

SLP Loudmouths
Pros:
The most accurate, TRUE old school muscle car sound. Other brands sound good, but they're more of a modern, exoctic muscle car sound.
Best looking tips on the market, IMO, other having the wrong angle. (see cons)
Cons:
They don't offer the correct OE style 45 degree angle tips like they make for the SLP Power Flows. Makes no sense IMO.
Can't keep the right side tip lined up correctly.

Wood Steering Wheel
Pros:
Unique. Love the old school Shelby look.
Cons:
Overpriced.
Silver dots look cheap since they are painted on.

V6 Rocker mouldings
Pros:
Makes the car look sleeker, slimmer. Less bulky.
MUCH easier to clean.
Cons:
None

Hurst Shifter:
Pros:
Shortest throws of any shifter I've ever had.
White ball and chrome handle give a great '60's look
Cons:
Just a little too tall. Handle needs to be about 3/4" shorter.

BF Goodrich g-force T/A KDW2 255/45/18
Pros:
New tread pattern gets lots of attention.
Traction is a little better compared to stock, but that could be because they're wider.
Cons:
VERY noisy. The smoother the road is, the louder the tires are. (but that's what the SLP's are for )

Global Windows (sort-of a mod since they had to be activated after the fact)
Pros:
Love that I can get the car cooled off in the summer before I go home every day.
Great attention getter. Love to show it to Ford service techs and salesmen who don't believe it was a factory option.
Cons:
Can't roll the windows up w/ remote.

Steeda Sport Springs (Rear only)
Pros:
Car looks 100 times better. The bulky rear end even looks smaller. Almost levels the car out.
Cheaper than buying 4 springs.
Cons:
Even after dropping the rear 1" it still has that raked look because of the way Ford designed the car.
Front gap is larger than rear gap, but no other set-up will get the car this close to level.

Steeda Strut Tower Brace
Pros:
Looks great especially with a sheet of aluminum under the cutout letters to make the word STEEDA stand out.
Cons:
No noticable improvement in handling or stiffness.

Redline Hood Struts
Pros:
Never have to mess with that stupid prop again.
Has a certain cool factor when other Mustang owners open the hood and start to reach for the prop that isn't there.
Cons:
Had to drill holes in my baby.
Instuctions for making the measurements suck.

GT500 pedals
Pros:
Look great. Definitely worth the $40.
Cons:
They're hidden away so they don't get noticed very much.

Flowmasters: Sound great but there is a mild drone to contend with.

C&L: Good HP gain... but I suspect my MPG of 14 City is attributable to this.

SS Body Kit: Looks great but there are slight fitment issues but LOVE this mod.

CDC Ducktail: My absolute favorite mod. Love it... gets rid of the slapped on look of the 3rd brakelight and just... looks cool

Pioneer AVIC-D2: Looks OEM, sounds great... looks neat... NAV isn't as accurate as I'd like it to be.

Tint: A must... love it.

It's anything BUT a "cold-air intake" but it does increase the MAF size and move more air... just HOTTER air.

I'm satisfied with the performance gain: the net measured gain WITH the appropriate C&L tune via Diablosport Predator was 15 HP COMPARED to the factory air intake after removing the trap and replacing the stock element with a K&N element. (I didn't do an absolute factory/stock baseline) So I'm GUESSING there was probably a total of 20 HP gain from the C&L/Diablosport duo compared to bone-stock factory.

Just got the Oct Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords.
Little comparison of 3 cold air intakes on the strip. No dyno numbers just serious on the strip numbers.

Inlet temp 77F

DA increased thru the day. With every 150ft change an NA care will loose about a hundreth of a sec and 1-2 mph according to MM&FF
corrected times/mph my rough calcs using what MM&FF said.

So I would say cold air packages DO lower intake temp. And reguardless of wether tune is required or not tune should be done.
And I am now really thinking Western Motor sports with the inlet tray heat wrapped. I think I may get this little auto of mine to run pretty good with it.

So what was ambient temp for each run? Did they say? Seems like a pretty important number to know, IMO.

Sure, here is a pic of them in my GT and a closer pic when they were in my sixxer. I actually got the idea from Brad, he put them on the Project Source Horse:

http://forums.bradbarnett.net/showthread.php?t=43526

They are by these guys:

http://granddesignmat.com/

A little pricey maybe, but the color match is perfect and it's nice that they are easily removable for cleaning, or if you get tired of them, or if you want to move them to another car (like I did!)

They had equipment to measure temperature, humidity and barametric pressure that were computed by their weather monitoring system to get the DA or Density Altitude. Lower is better air.

The only mod I have had trouble with is my Zex kit I had at first. **** thing would NEVER run a constant A/F on the dyno. Cut out at high rpms for no reason. The way it's designed stops you from using a window switch unless you ghetto rig one on there. I've switched to NX and I havn't looked back. EVERYTHING is better about NX.

After roughly two months with my first Mustang, here's where I stand:

Steeda CAI with Xcal1
Pros: Got a good deal on it locally, easy install
Cons: Looks cheap, the stupid plastic pipe upgrade is ridiculously overpriced (yeah, I paid for it). The Xcal1 is deficient compared to other HHTs on the market IMHO due to the lack of end user adjustability or diagnostic capability.

Custom tune from Dyno Tuned Performance
Pros: Car had a lot more pep and attitude driving out of the shop than it did driving in. Mileage continues to improve (Yes, I'm the guy who buys the V8 and watches the MPG. A leftover from my days of driving a Honda.)
Cons: No real cons.

Corsa axle-back
Pros: Installation was relatively easy, the tone is nicely refined
Cons: I can't get the tips to sit where I want. This was a problem with the stock exhaust as well. The change between the stock mufflers and these was not as dramtic as I had hoped

Steeda Ultralights
Pros: Finally, the car has the stance it should have come with from the factory
Cons: I have a bad feeling that camber plates and possibly an adjustable panhard bar are in my future

Chopped antenna:
Pros: I haven't caught a "flag" since I chopped it
Cons: It's still an exposed antenna. I want a hidden one like I had in my Accord.

MGW billet pieces
Pros: They add a nice bit of flash to the interior, which is necessary for the cars with a dark interior color
Cons: It's easy to get carried away with billet (or shiny stuff in general). One or two pieces is really all that's needed IMHO

Fanblades
Pros: Came with the car, they're a little different from everyone riding around on Bullitts
Cons: There's a reason why everyone rides on Bullitts...they look good! I'm still torn on how much I like the fanblades. And with TPMS, I can't just swap out wheels. Another great idea, US Government!

I have a set of 3.73s sitting on the kitchen table waiting to go in, but not sure if they'll make it. A set of longtubes and high flow cats are on order through DTP. And I keep eyeballing superchargers with alarming regularity. And every time I show up at a cruise-in, I end up with either horsepower envy, unique modification envy, or both!

K&N CAI
Pros:
Makes the car sound great.
Some power gains.
No tune required
Cons:
None

SCT X-cal2
Pros:
Tune kicks butt
Cons:
$$$

Magnapacks cat back system
Pros:
Great sound
Fantastic looking tips
Cons:
Slight drone (I like it!).
Had to put the car on a lift to get the pipes off
Had to get 3 sets from Magnaflow because first 2 were damaged.

Painted white stripes
Pros:
Look fabulous.
Cons:
More $$ than vinyl.
Drove my car off the dealer lot directly to the body shop and had to wait 5 days to get it back and start driving.

Saleen Short Throw Shift Adapter:
Pros:
Shortens throws nicely.
Doesn't change the look of the stock interior
Cons:
None.

Chrome spinners
Pros:
Look great. Real old school look of the 60's Stangs.
Much better quality than plastic Ford spinners.
Can't fall off like the Ford spinners
Cons:
Harder to install, had to pull off each wheel
More expensive than the plastic Ford spinners (but worth it!)

Ultimate pedals
Pros:
Look great. Love the engraved pony.
Now I have the dead petal that Ford should have included.
Cons:
Out of sight.
Expensive for the set (even with the TMS group buy)

Jet TBS
Pros:
Supposed to have improved torque.
Cons:
Maybe it did, maybe it didn't, but no hard proof either way

Trunk release button
Pros:
Don't need remote to get into trunk
Cheap to do (got button from a junk yard)
Cons:
None

My car came with Steeda rear control arms on it. Has anyone running these noticed a slight pop noise when coming to a stop or backing up and hitting the brakes? I checked all the bolts (also the calipers) and greased the bushings and the noise is still there.

The only mods I plan to perform on my Stang:

ground the heater core
ground the radiator
teflon tape wrap for brake fluid reservoir (thanks TacoBill!!)
Sylvania XtraVision H13XVs
Tripledge Wiper Blades (+1 or +2")
Locking gas cap

I have read more than once the manual GTs are capable of low to mid 13s stock, so that's all I really need.

I would suggest that you use the yellow teflon tape as it is made for oil based products. Ace Hardware carries it.

Ford Racing Handling Pack.
Pros: The car handles like it's on rails.
Cons: Good thing I don't have fillings or they'd have rattled out by now.

20" Black Falken Koblenz Wheels"
Pros: These wheels make the car. They look perfect.
Cons: I feel every bump in the road.

These two mods together make the car look SWEET. I get so many compliments. Even just driving around I get people shouting "Nice Car!!" out their windows. Gotta love that.

I'm happy with all of my mods except:

Magnaflow catbacks
Pros: Very nice rolled SS tips. They fill out the rear valance panel better than the stock tips.

Con: I wish they were a little louder. IMO, I should have gone with the Magnapacks which are slightly louder but also may have a little drone.

FRPP 4.10s
Pros: Great improvement in performance. Makes the manual 5th gear much more usable.

Cons: More frequent shifting (may be a good thing for some people, including me ). Loss of top-end speed. Possible gear whine! After the first install, my gears would whine slightly on accel. I had them re-done by the same installer, and now they are MUCH worse (whine on accel and decel). Not sure if it's the gears or the install or a combo of both, but Jegs agreed to let me swap them for another set (great customer service!). Tomorrow I'm having a different shop install the new gears. We'll see how they do.....I'm going to keep my fingers crossed!

I don't have a Stang.... yet. But I do have a 300ZX.

Custom-made catback exhaust w/ Flowmaster race mufflers
Pros: sounds GREAT (not ricey at all), looks great, probably lighter and/or more corrosion resistant (stainless) than stock
Cons: major drone between 1800 and 2400rpm, amplified by the fact it's a convertible

Alpine IVA w200 head unit: My favorite mod. Doe`s everything but wash the car.

Hurst shifter: Love the look and firmer shifts.

CDC sequential taillights: Least favorite mod. Quality product but I don`t get to enjoy them, everyone else does.
