I came up with this to keep the wife and kids from nailing me in the garage when she parks next to me ...

Too bad it won't fit in the truck for road trips ...

That is a Great Idea!!!
You are one smart guy Jeff
Protects your doors without that ugly side molding that takes away from the lines of the car.

Great idea Jeff. I would add a few more 2 x 4s to make a base...that way it can be used for a hockey net too. I'll start building mine next week.

They make those that hang from the ceiling by ropes. I think they are air filled like the boat buoys. I'm pretty sure I saw them at griotsgarage.com.

Edit: Yep, try here:

If I had the room, I'd build a garage for just my mustang!! Too bad I live in a condo right now! In a few years though!

Thanks for the link crazyhorse...that looks like it would work well for me. I tried to convice my wife to exit the sliding side door of her minivan instead of the front but she wasn't impressed with me idea.

Thats a good idea, I'll have to make something like that, because it a semi tight fit with 2 car's in our garage.

I personally like the idea of threatening death and severe bodily injury if anyone messes up my car.

Here is a cheap alternative for it... Get one of those tube swiming floats with the hole through it run a cord through it and hang it from the ceiling.

LMAO...Uuuuuuum so what if your wife wants to ride with you or you want open the passengers door to clean the interior. Back it out from the garage? Dont get me wrong but dont you think thats a little paranoid. I know that if my wife built something like that for her car I would be pissed because it kinda shows that you think she is not smart enough to be carefull. No offense but since you posted I had to reply. Hope it works out for you.

I don't agree. Accidents happen. Even I have had a door get away from me and hit another (and I am super careful). If the bumper saves one ding it was worth it. It would make my wife more comfortable. She accidentally spilled a pepsi in my last Mustang. She started crying. Not because she was "afraid" of what I would think, but, because she knew how much the car meant to me and it made her feel bad. Pepsi cleans up, dents are hard to fix.

yeah get some of those noodles and hang those. They're cheap enough so you can get like 4-5 of them to make like a wall.
