Hmm, I am not following your math.

300 mi. / 25 mpg * 3.25 = $39 /wk. in gas
300 mi. / 45 mpg * 3.25 = $21.7 /wk. in gas
Difference in gas price per week = ~ $17

$17 * 52 weeks per year = $884 per year in savings.
or $4,420 over 5 years.

Not exactly what I would call a heckuva lot of car over 5 years.

Did I miss something?
