Thumbs up

I have been reading a lot messages lately on your chat forum. So, I decided to joined your group. Here is my story..... I went to my dealer on 09/16. At that time they said they had no information about the 05 Mustang. I asked them, Well I heard can you order them???? They said, yes you can order them (it's funny how there story changed suddenly)... so anyways, I ordered my 05 Silver Mustang GT under the x-plan. I stopped by yesterday to get any updates on the car, a VIN number or just about anything. They told me that someone from Ford was in the back talking to the owner of the dealership. They checked on the status of my car, and said Ford just allocated it and it should be around 10 weeks from now.

Does this time line sound right?????

Also I looked on my vehicle order confirmation and the priority is set at 99, is this good or bad?????

Wow - 10 weeks. That puts you into the 2nd week of Dec. That is when I'm picking mine up! It was built this week......Tuesday. But won't be shipped til mid/late Nov.

yeah 10 weeks sounds good...but If you really have priority 99, from what I hear that is not good.

I ordered MY black stang on july 04 with every option except the red interior pack. I do not even have a vin number yet, a cuople of buddies of mine ordered the same time and are supposed to get theres in october and 1st week of november. By that time wouldn't it be just as easy to go pick one up from the dealer lot.

I think, that there will be cars around November or December on the lots, BUT...the chances of your picking out the color you want, with the options you want will be slim. AND, you can expect the dealer is going to be thinking "this car is new, i know for a fact that i can sell this car at a high price, since its in high demand", so with that said, don't expect to get a good deal.

I ordered my 05 yesterday and have a priority of 10, which is good! The dealer told me 6-8 weeks, but I am expecting at least 8 weeks, nothing less. I don't really mind either, it will make for a nice Christmas present too myself and gives me a fair amount of time to consider selling my current GT.

6-8 weeks is more like it.

they are building 46-47 cars an hour, for 20 hrs a day, that is 920 a day, that would take a month to get through the preorders. factory orders are built before retail orders, so i would say 6-8 instead of 10 weeks.

Dealers have been saying anywhere from 8 to 12 weeks, so the time line does sound right, but have your priority changed to a 10. from what I hear around here, if its priority 99 your car will take for ever to be built.
I am in the same boat and have asked my dealer to change the priority, I will let you know how that goes.

Actually, a 99 will never be built. Have it changed to 10, or you won't get a car.
