Yeah. That's the auction I've been watching. I didn't want to post it though to help keep the traffic down for the auction so there'd be less chance of getting in a bidding war with someone.

Diversified is a pretty good company. Some of their parts are a little overpriced, but I bought 3 GT grilles from them for a project. They were $40 each w/o lights.

I'm not sure I understand what foam you're talking about. If there's part of it that comes already attached to the leather, does that mean you had to remove some of the "stock" foam from your seats?

Unbelievable...... I wonder if the same person that installed your seats also lost his crack pipe under the seat as well?

I took down the link. Sorry 'bout that.

Diversified is a pretty good company. Some of their parts are a little overpriced, but I bought 3 GT grilles from them for a project. They were $40 each w/o lights.
The seats were the only thing I got from them, and they were really easy to deal with.

Yes, you take the front seat apart, seperating the top and bottom. The seat bottoms you simply recover. But the seat tops, you slide the foam foundation and cover off *together* because that is how the replacements come, with the leather already attached to the foam foundation. The only tricky part is getting the headrest support grommits out like I described earlier. Once you do that, it's pretty simple to slide the old cover and foam off and slip the new one on. It does help to have an extra hand help out with that part though.

Oh, one other thing, there is a TSB for bending out the attachment points for the covers on the seat bottoms, as on some cars they come loose (you'll have to search for it, I don't remember which post it was sorry). My car had the passenger side loose when I got it, but I bent the little tabs out just a bit and that problem is fixed. If your car doesn't have that problem then just skip that part.

I think those are nice, but every time I've seen them installed they look awfully loose and wrinkly...not bad, but more so than I would personally care for.

Thanks Jay!
Man, you've been a BIG help with these seats. Now If I could just decide whether or not I'm going to get them.

I like the pony style a lot. In fact those are what started me thinking about going with leather, but I never could come up with a color scheme I liked for my car. The deciding factor was the price. I would've prefered the fake leather anyway and so I'd save money that way, but $200 is a lot easier to justify than $500.

Anyone know if they have the running ponies on the back of the seat like the original ones? I've always liked the retro look of those seats and that one little detail could be the deciding factor. Hey, I could always go with solid black instead of two-tone.

Yeah. That's not the standard V6 leather so it's the same as the GT.

One more thing in favor of the GT leather vs. the V6 or aftermarket is that it matches the Aberdeen pattern door inserts if you have the IUP.

Good point.

Well I let the auction go. Guess I still haven't made up my mind to do the swap. I just can't get over how much I didn't like having leather in my last Mustang.
