I actually love the G35 Coupe. I was going to get one before deciding on the Stang. Raw and visceral won me over smooth and refined...>=) In the end, I think the Stang has more personality and looks meaner. G35 Coupes are becoming a dime a dozen (just like 3 series BMWs). I know this is selfish of me, but I really hope that doesn't happen to the Stang.

On a (somewhat) unrelated note, my Stang walked my friend's G35 Coupe pretty badly...>=)

well my job involves taking plenty of spins in cars....today included the supercharged jag...type r....and the new mercedes CLS500....and ive driven PLENTY of g35's and 350z's. my cousin has a 350z. and honestly they r totally disappointing. the exhaust is totally cheesy. the mustang isnt sex on wheels....its an orgy on wheels

Haha. I came from a Honda Prelude with a fart can, so I always thought my friend's Stillen exhaust on his G35 Coupe sounded awesome. Then after driving my Stang for a few days, his exhaust started to sound awful to me... Heh, I hope he doesn't read this (hehe, I cruise the G35 forum he's on to see what he says about me and my Stang)...

the only design that got stolen here is BMW's "hockey stick" quarter window (the thief is Nissan/Infinity). The mustang steals only from its past.

I think there is very little resemblance between the two.

As for the G35 Coupe....while it is a nice car (I've driven one btw), to me the styling is way too bland. There are next to no exterior features and the door panels are far too tall, as the body design. It looks too chunky and not sleek enough. Like a large mass of plain sheet metal.

The new rims and hatching in the lower grille in the new model year does improve the look though.

I think the mustang looks mostly like a mustang. I could be wrong though.

I almost never say Infiniti; its Nissan Corp. hehehe

Dunno how it is in the states but the (2004-2005) Infiniti range and Nissan Range overlap only at the midrange G35 coupe (350Z) and G35 sedan (Maxima). Not counting trucks. I.e. there is no 'Infiniti' Altima-sized car and No Nissan M35-45or Q45-size. At least not in North America. I don't think it was always like this.

So in summary, bold is Infinti offering

N/A = Altima

G35 coupe = 350Z

G35 sedan=Maxima

M35 or 45 = N/A

Q45= N/A
But anyway, I think the G35 is a good effort from the import guys. Great GT car, the 350Z on the other hand is a very sucky sportscar. Nasty looking.

:nono: Both were wrong

G35 Coupe is the Skyline Not the 350Z!!! All those saying otherwise
Its like saying the Late 80's/ early 90's Buick Riviera & Reatta were the same...

G35 Sedan is Japan's Altima/Skyline (4dr)...

M35/45(Fuga) is a modified Maxima ie underping changes... kinda like Jag S type & Lincoln LS

Q45 = Cima --- Stretch Maxima in Japan

This is incredible... they are virtual twins.
At work there is a maroon Gran Prix GT... I cant tell you haw many times I have started walking towards that car thinking it was my Redfire GT...
To think I could have had G35 ricemobile instead of my Mustang... and I could have gotten it much quicker than it took for the GT.

I like the g35 and the Z. I think they look great. I had an 03 altima 3.5se before my stang. The vq35 is a great engine. very powerful V6 but I chose the stang cause more stock power, cheaper, V8 sound!

I parked right next to one last night (G35) and thought of this thread. Other than 2 doors and 4 wheels, I couldn't see the similarities. These two cars are night and day from each other.

Not seeing how they are similar. the type is similar but the Nissan had a very flat look to it, while the mustang has cuts and lines.

You should have to pay extra for that signature... it's obnoxiously, annoyingly long.

The G35 just has a different name from the Skyline. Like I said, the chassis is different, everything else is the same (as far as basics). Keep in mind that the Skyline isn't a GTS or GTR. It's a 350GT...so it isn't a developed Skyline from Nissan, same power as the U.S. version.
