If your just saying that cuz you feel that way, so be it. But im my opinion, they are very nice cars. Back in January I almost got a 350Z roadster, and they are really fabulous cars. They are all in their own classes, and I love both designs...so I won't just diss them because I drive a stang.
Hey Chris,

Is there a thread where you describe how you did the Ghost stripes? I really like your stripes and am considering ghost stripes myself. I'd like to know how much it costed you also. We're both in LA, but I"m sure we won't run into each other. (I think). Westside!

heres the difference......the g35 is SOOOO UGLY!!
I third that and my dad owns a G35. Nice slick car thats fun to drive (haven't driven a 05 yet so I can't compare ), just not my style. I did notice the roofline and side windows look VERY similar, but that similarity ends with the rear side window. Just my opinion.

What in God's name are YOU smokin'? How does country of origin help your arguement.

The Mazda Miata was designed by the son of one of Ford's designers. When they took it to the table and submitted it, the upity ups said no. Not for Ford. But Mazda...

So here you have a Miata that is Japanese made and AMERICAN designed. I snicker every time someone sees a Miata and think the Japanese are so clever...

And if you really must know, I don't smoke. Anything. Heck, at my age, I'd settle for smoking after intercourse (but I'm too scared to look)
This thread is cracking me up... - I love this from "pitpup".

Beavis says: "HeHe... he said, intercourse... HeHe

On a side note: Mod's can we get the language censor to replace the word "intercourse" with the word "nooky"?

Ahhhh my bad - he meant inner course, as in a road-course racetrack inside an oval track. I get scared too after smoking through one of those.

And - no they do not look alike.

Or is it?

I see no connection between those two cars. One's ugly, one's not.

Seeing as how the S197 takes its cues from all the previous cars, 40+ years. I would say its just the fact they are two door coupes, so they are bound to have some familiarities.
Exactly. You can't do too much of a difference in roof design of a coupe between two entirely differently designed coupes.

Oh yeah, when did Infinity start making vehicles? I thought they only made mobile audio/video equipment?

Hee hee...This is a great thread...lol...Just in case someone doesn't know, here you go:

Infiniti is to Nissan as is Lexus is to Toyota or Acura is to Honda or blah blah blah...

350Z and G35 Coupe is the same car...Same platform, same chassis. Different bolt ons...The G35 has a backseat though, 350Z does not.

Q35 is the same as the Nissan Maxima

M35 is the same as the Nissan Altima

You get the picture... :bang:

I almost never say Infiniti; its Nissan Corp. hehehe

Dunno how it is in the states but the (2004-2005) Infiniti range and Nissan Range overlap only at the midrange G35 coupe (350Z) and G35 sedan (Maxima). Not counting trucks. I.e. there is no 'Infiniti' Altima-sized car and No Nissan M35-45or Q45-size. At least not in North America. I don't think it was always like this.

So in summary, bold is Infinti offering

N/A = Altima

G35 coupe = 350Z

G35 sedan=Maxima

M35 or 45 = N/A

Q45= N/A

But anyway, I think the G35 is a good effort from the import guys. Great GT car, the 350Z on the other hand is a very sucky sportscar. Nasty looking.

Just to input about G35 = 350Z. The frame is the same, the chassis is not. The engine, transmission, etc. are all the same.

As Sonic Brew pointed out early on, "the S197 takes its cues from all the previous cars, 40+ years. I would say its just the fact they are two door coupes, so they are bound to have some familiarities."

Two door coupes shouldn't resemble 4 door sedans or wagons. The style inherently indicates a sporty, sexy nature by it's very intent. Having said that, the execution of the two cars IS very different. The Mustang is clearly the winner (at least in my humble unbiased opinion ) I'd never put a G35 in my drive, but that's just my opinion and why there are so many different cars on the road, each suits the individual taste of the owner.

I'm not saying anything nasty about Nissans or any other car for that matter.I"m just saying I don't see a resemblance and I'd rather have the stang.

I think he meant..."The S197 takes its cues from all the previous Mustangs, 40+ years."

Not sure what you are trying to clarify there...who said anything about sedans, wagons, trucks, SUVs? All i've seen was something about 'coupes'. (2-door cars with a rear seat) ('2-door' cars are 2-seaters)
