I don't see any resemblance. The only similarity I saw here was that they are both silver. The taillights looks nothing like eachother, there is a solid body design along the side as opposed to the mustang where it has some edges. The front grill of the stang is not aerodynamic in the least and the G35 is very. So where are these similarities you see?

Uh, I'm going to have to go ahead and sort of disagree there with you. The G35 looks nothing like a Mustang.

Just because the rooflines match, that is not basis to say the cars look alot alike. It's a basis to say the rooflines look alot alike.

Note whose car gets the CHICK!

The g35 and the 350Z share similar DNA and they look alot alike....

But the Mustang??

I don't really see it....

If anything, due to the wider body, wide flat hood and different stance, and the flares over the front fenders, I had noticed early on after the S197s came out that dead-on from the front driving towards you, the general stance of the Stang reminded me of the newer Beamers.......

"The front and rear are VERY different, but the middle bodies are the same"...

What are you talking about???? Then they ARE different if the front and rear are VERY different. Of course the middle is the same cause they are both silver, have 2 doors, and 4 wheels. Yes they both have an A-pillar and B-pillar.........just like every other coupe.

I don't know what you're thinking....

Thank you Stan. That's all I'm saying. Man. I feel like I just talked trash about the Good Lord the way people are reacting. The similar rooflines and overall size and shape of the frame look the same to me. When people start mentioning stuff under the hood, or the difference in the front and back ends, etc... I think people misunderstand what I"m saying.

You can't say the frame and middle is similar to the fox coupe mustangs or other 2+2 cars. I don't agree that every other coupe looks like the mustang in the roof and middle. The honda accord coupe, etc... don't look like the mustang.

Umm...dude...I think you have some eyelids obstructing your view. Might want to get that checked out.

I agree with the guy who brought Aston Martin and Jag into this discussion for comparison.

I was just driving along and I noticed a car that looked like the mustang from the obstructive view I had, but to my chagrin, I discovered it was an Infiniti G35 Coupe! Let me present exhibit A

http://www.freshalloy.com/site/cars/infini.../photos/001.jpg

Compare that to Exhibit B

http://bradbarnett.net/mustangs/shows/inno...-SilverGT-6.jpg

The body is almost the same! Now the front and back are VERY different, but the basic shape of the middle part of the body is very similar. The tail is so similar, I can just see, if you photoshopped the tail lights onto the G35, it would look very similar. I'm pretty sure I'm not the first to notice this, but I'd imagine G35 owners would look down their noses at Mustangs because it's so similar.

When the G35 first came out a couple of years ago, I thought it looked like a 2001-2004 Mustang with the edges rounded off.

The G35 looks a lot more like the SN95 Mustang than the '05, especially in the C-pillar and quarter window area.

When was the first Sn95? 1994. When was the first g35? 2003? In my opinion, the G35 tried to emulate Mustang SN95 styling.!!!

Wow you are truly smoking crack. The G35 has no similarities to the '05+ Mustang other than the fact that they are both fastback coupes, as has already been stated.

Hee hee...This is a great thread...lol...Just in case someone doesn't know, here you go:

Infiniti is to Nissan as is Lexus is to Toyota or Acura is to Honda or blah blah blah...

350Z and G35 Coupe is the same car...Same platform, same chassis. Different bolt ons...The G35 has a backseat though, 350Z does not.

Q35 is the same as the Nissan Maxima

M35 is the same as the Nissan Altima

You get the picture... :bang:

dont see the similarity, but I do like the G35. Price wasn't the issue for me, neither was performance(which the G35 is quite similar). I'm hooked on the 1966fb-1970m1 styling. I think were comparing aplles to oranges on this one.

Guys the Infiniti G35 and the Nissan 350z are exactly the same darn car. The chassis is the same, as well as most body parts that are used. All that is different is the fact that the 350z is a two seater and the g35 is more luxury-oriented. they share the same engine, too.

I would take the 2005 GT (like I did) any day over the G35c. I was about to get a G35 and was 95% ready to get the one I wanted...

Then I noticed...EVERY TIME you look around LA, mainly Glendale/Pasadena, holy #*U% you see a G35 at every stoplight. Thats a turn off for me. I hate having a car many people have...

So I got an eye-turning Blue stang.

If your just saying that cuz you feel that way, so be it. But im my opinion, they are very nice cars. Back in January I almost got a 350Z roadster, and they are really fabulous cars. They are all in their own classes, and I love both designs...so I won't just diss them because I drive a stang.
