I have one of the earlier 3dCarbon 3d500 spoilers that attached with two bolts, using the two rearmost factory holes. However, soon after installing it (twice), it lifted on the ends. 3dCarbon recently sent me a brand new spoiler. The new spoiler attaches using the two rearmost factory holes and also on the ends, using a total of four bolts, not screws, not to mention the 3M tape all around the perimeter. I too will have to drill the two extra holes in my trunk. From my experience, without the two outboard bolts/holes, the spolier will lift, even when properly taped.
Ditto....I have the same 3D Carbon GT500 spoiler....Mine is lifting as well.
Did you contact 3D direct for a replacement? I purchased mine from KC and had it pre-painted. They mentioned the painted ones had less tape on them then they should have. I had the spoiler reinstalled with more tape and it's lifting again.....

Like you, I bought my 3dCarbon spoiler from KC (prepainted), and yes, I contacted 3dCarbon directly. When the original lifted, they sent new tape and I reinstalled it, but it lifted again, but not near as much as the first time. The latest version of 3dCarbon GT500 spoiler, with the two extra bolts on the outside, is a perfect fit. However, I do like the location of the outer bolts on the DG Custom Auto version better, because they're not so close to the outer edge of the trunk lid. Regardless, my 3dCarbon spoiler is fitting perfect now, so I'm very happy now.

Ok, sounds like a lot of lifting from the 3D carbon Wing. The two extra holes in the DG Custom wing are sounding like a good idea.

I just got my DG Shelby spoiler last night. Pre painted black (UA). Looks awesome. They did a good job packing it. Not a scratch on it. Hopfully I'll get time to yank the stock wing and get this bad boy installed. Included instructions look easy enough. Of course, anytime drilling into the car is required I'm gonna be nervous, but I'm gonna suck it up, buy new drill bits, and get after it. Pics to follow.

+1 on

www.atlantamustang.com I got my CDC aggressive Chin Spoiler and picked it up localy. It saved me $70 on shipping which they didnt have to do. I sat and talked to those guys for a few minutes. They seem very reputable and nice to work with. Here is a couple of pics installed on my car.

You guys got me wanting as well, I just ordered the Qtr louvers from DG, they should be here on Friday. Along with the headlight splitters from LMPerf. The extra $320 for this spoiler will just have to come out of the next comm check.....

I guess your right. They are $20 cheaper w/ the sale and free shipping they have. Of course, make sure it's one of the 3D spoilers w/ the add'l outer mounting holes. I've heard several folks complain about the ends lifting on the original 3D spoilers.

Craig said the DG spoiler are made by the same company (Sportwing?) that makes the GT500 Shelby spoiler for Ford. Obviously there are minor difference in the way they mount.

I got mine from Atlanta Mustang over xmas and it's the 2nd gen 3D spolier with the extra holes in the ends. cant really give any judgement yet on whether it will lift or not since it hasnt been on for that long

Like I mentioned above, the 2nd generation 3dCarbon spoiler have their additional holes very close to the edge of the trunk lid. Mine installed fine, and I have no issues, nor expect any issues with lifting. I would just prefer the additional holes be positioned just a little further inboard, like the DG spoiler. I'll take some pictures of my 2nd generation 3dCarbon, if anyone's interested.

OK, that's it, this is my next mod. I'm VERY happy with the DG louvers, so I'm sure the spoiler will be a perfect match as well......
