It is now Feb. 16, and still no sign of it. I called customer service again today and they assured me that the car had left the factory by truck for my dealership. But I'm starting to wonder if I will ever see it. :notnice:

Sure, this deserves a topic, because it is good to know that you're not alone in this type of situation.
I was told ETA Dealer was 2/4/05; then 2/10/05; I'm still being told 2/10/05 by the dealer, even though this is 2/16/05.
VOPC said it was built 1/12/05; shipped by convoy carrier (i.e. truck) 1/30/05; shipped via rail carrier 2/7/05; shipped via rail carrier 2/14/05.
How many carriers, and how many days, does it reasonably take to ship a car from Michigan to Louisiana??? It could have gone cross-country east to west since 1/30/05 !!
But, my dealer ETA is....still February 10 !!!
FedEx or UPS can track a small box, with virtually worthless contents, from California to my house, telling me every time someone touched it along the way, and when (with great accuracy) it will be delivered to my door.
FoMoCo and the dealer cannot keep track of a $25K automobile? No one can tell me where it is, or when it will arrive? This is ridiculous.
Ford can't accurately predict demand for various options, or vehicle types (V-6 vs. GT mix---V-6 was supposed to be the big seller, yet they are piling up on dealer lots while GTs remain scarce); then when they finally build a car, they can't ship it timely (shipped 18 days after build ?!?!?), or tell you where it is along the way.
Is this any way to run a major company???
I know, Sixty Six holds the record on late delivery. Quit whining.
I'm just tired and frustrated. Thanks for letting me vent.

My ETA was started at 12/24
Then 12/29
Then 1/2
Then 1/10
Then 1/17
Picked it up 1/21
Be patient and it will get there. The rail yard has been packed since the holidays plus any bad weather in Mich/Ohio area will slow things down even more. Take the ETA with a grain of salt but make sure your dealer is keeping up with it. If it gets late enough they can make your delivery "hot" and put a priority on it.

And, I'll keep in mind that "hot" delivery priority status. Thanks for taking the time.

Actually Mike, I don't even think I'm close to holding a record. I can't recall who exactly, but I know for sure there were a bunch of people who got caught up in the first material holds that waited a VERY long time for their cars.

Ok. Guys I actually thought about starting a new thread about this last week. But decided to hold off to see if anyone else was having the same problems before I posted.
My ETA week went from 1/24-1/30 to 1/28-2/4. Well It's the 16th & they still tell me 2/4. Right. That was 12 days ago and still no car in sight. Well my GM looked into it for me. And he talked to a lady at the Memphis allocation office who called the plant & found that my car in in "quality mantiance storage".
Which means that my car & others are being held & because there is a part messed up or something. So they are looking at all of them in that run, so they are looking at each car individually to see if that part is messed up & if it is I guess they will fix it. But all of this has to be done before the cars can be shipped.
So even though it says "shipped via convey carrier" doesn't necessarily mean that it was. So, if you are that concerned I suggest that you talk to your GM or the Sales Manager & have them find out the real deal. Anyway. I hope this helps you guys out. And maybe someone else here knows more about this. Laters.

Got a call from my dealer yesterday telling me that there still isn't a build date yet for my car. then he told me that a guy ordered the same car I did (minus side airbags) two days before me and his was built last monday and should arrive by the 31st.
so... Not only did I get some bad news but then he added insult to injury.
I'm comming up on week 12 now.
Im not mad at the dealer, besides all he can do is call the same number everyone else is calling, and at least he is honest with me and keeps me up to date even if it is BAD news.
