Thumbs up

So I have been having a little trouble with the Customer Service at Ford... I have been tryin to use the dealer only automated number to put in my VIN... but that stupid machine couldnt recognize a VIN for anything... Ive spoken as clearly and slow as possible and it still misses basically every number... Any tips on getting the stupid machine to register what I say? :bang: Insanity is setting in...

Use the order number instead, it's only 4 numbers

The problem with the order number is the machine does not recognize it... my order number is 9999 seems kinda an odd number...

That is odd, like it's a dummy or something. I don't have a DORA, but I do have the order reciept that the system spits out when the order is entered.

At the very bottom to the left is the order no.

That order number seems to be from the Vehicle Order Confirmation. Mine was 2222 I believe. You'll need the one from the DORA. Mine has it as an alphanumeric number, S022 (that's a zero not the letter "O").

Mine is all numbers...go figure

And the Vehicle Order Confirmation does have the real order number on it. I kept the second page of mine and has everything I need

Well it varies then I guess. But the 9999 number does sound like some sort of dummy number.

Let me clear up what I do have to avoid confusion here. Instead of going by memory I just pulled it out.

What I have is the vehicle order confirmation. It basically looks like a screen dump straight out of CONCEPTS. Mine was 2 pages long, on page 2 at the very bottom is this line:

U311 - ORDER NO. 6681 HAS BEEN ADDED TO THE ORDER BANK. QE20301

My order receipt was 9999. It is a placeholder until they get the DORA-I think. My new number is R501. Still scheduled to be built this week! Fingersz
crossed.

The dealer sets the order number when the place the order. It can be any four digits (we use V for victor, the town we are in, and then three numbers) we do them sequentially and when we get to v999 we'll have to think of something new. The 9999 is pretty common for a salesperson to use when specing out a vehicle, same with the 99 priority, so that if it gets mistakenly submitted it is very easy to catch on your status report.

Chances are you were assigned a "real" order number when your dealer submitted it, call them and ask for it. What does it show on your DORA (not the order confirmation sheet)?
