I've got an offer on the table at a local dealer for $1K over invoice, should I take it?? It's on an order........

I got the same offer in January but kept looking till March and got a GT Vert for $400 over invoice. With the $500 AQHA discount I'm buying at $100 under invoice.
I think I did better than X plan but I don't pick up the car till Monday and I ordered 3-9-05. To me the price was worth the wait. I'm just too thrifty (cheap) to pay MSRP or more.

Good Luck to you.

funhog2, I'm right there with ya. Thanks to ISELLFORD I was able to leverage at least the $1000 deal. Now I hope to go to another local dealer and shoot for $500. But, I still think 1K is good. But I want to add about 3k in non-performance mods (painted stripes, CDC ducktail, seq tailights, aftermarket stereo. So I'm trying to save as much cash as possible........

I use the internet and make deal before you go to the dealer, and i got about 9 dealers in Houston and around Houston call me. I finally got the deal $300.00 under invoice from Marshall Ford. Which I only have to drive 40 min from my house.

That interesting. What was the window sticker price and what did you pay?

What model and what options did you get?

It's sad to hear so many poeple having problems. I ordered X-plan last September and received the car in November. I never signed any papers, never put down a deposit. Maybe I was lucky, but you can usually figure out pretty quick who is an honest dealer and who isn't. Best of luck to everyone looking. If you can't find anything local, I really recommend contacting on of the salesman that frequent this site. The road trip and piece of mind would both be worth it IMO.

There is a fleabayed Gt at the local used car dealer here------
Black $29,998....... Its been sitting there for close to two months now.

My closest dealer doesn't do markups.
My favorite dealer adds details like vents and scooops and adds to sticker.

My dealer does not add mark-ups or add over priced slick-****** to sell them. They are at MSRP period. Currently 3 GTs (2 coups, 1 vert) and 1 V6 on the lot.

Any of the dealers in the Memphis area I've talked to, who would take an X-plan order on an 05, wont do more than $500 off list on an ordered 06. Definately no dealing on one on the lot. They realize how hot the car is, and the GT's have never sat on their lots more than a few days max.

I got my pre approval loan, and that is what bring it up when i talk to the sale man, just to let them know that you are serious bout buy a car. then I tell them that i would not buy at MSRP. after about 5 sale man called one said he will check with his manager and call me back later. I said ok i got other dealer calling me all morning. He call me back 10min later and said he can only give $300.00 under MSRP. and that's how i got my car.

We have a black 2005 GT coupe coming in around the end of the week and a red 2006 GT vert that the buyer backed out that is being built next week.

Neither will have a markup over MSRP.

I would and have ordered GT's for TMS members at x-plan pricing. I have the authority and am doing it as a perk for members, plus I am donating to support this website. There are several dealers on this site that stand by their word.
True, several dealers are good and some go the extra effort to help support this site and it's member. see post: http://forums.bradbarnett.net/index.php?showtopic=30805

Just wanted to confirm that doing a little bit of homework pays off. I've got offers for $600, $800, and $1000 over invoice. All at pretty much local dealers. This board has saved me a bunch!!! Thanks to all, I will post pix as soon as the new car gets here........
