I was told the car was built and should have arrived just after Xmas, now I find out that it is just being submitted to the plant. I do recall seeing someone had the ability to lookup a VIN at Ford and get some more information...

Anyone working there that can help out? Should I call Ford? I bought the car at the beginning of October and now with all the IUP issues and MyColor issues I am just plain afraid I won't get all my options. SHould I be worried?

I did got with a Black GT, Spoiler delete, IUP, Red Leather, and Shaker 500. Passed on the 1000 and the bullit rims...but will this car still have the MyColor option? Will I be looking at a different IUP package. I seem to read conflicting reports saying some cars in January will have them, some people say no. I really don't know what to think - but I am starting to Freak Out at this point!

VIN is : 1ZVFT82HX55147047

If anyone can help, or offer words of advice I'd love it!

it prolly would have been built but you have the IUP so it was delayed. there are no IUP cars being built in january apparently. they will resume in Febuary.

In correct from the way I understand it any car that doesn’t have a build date wont be built with IUP in January. My car will have it and it will be built week of the 24th.

My dealer told me the same thing. I don't think he lied... just didn't know. I guess it's common when you order a car that when the dealer gets the VIN, your car is built or almost built. Probably true if you orders something like an F150 with standard options. But when Ford gets backloged with orders, then runs into parts delays, it's not always the case. Now that you have a VIN, call Ford customer service at 800-392-3673 and ask the status of your order. They should be able to give you a build date.

there are no IUP cars being built in january apparently.
Some of us with IUP orders have gotten build dates for January. So it looks like the IUP issues are being resolved.

...then again, I haven't actually SEEN my car with IUP yet.

Good Luck to all of you on getting your cars exactly the way you want them. As we all know, there's a world of difference between Scheduled Build and Built.....

Thanks for the info...I call the phone number that was posted and they said it was submitted to the plant, no further info than that. I wonder what the real hold up is if I ordered so long ago. Does it also come down to dealer allocation? I had a priority of 9 on this thing, and still no luck. I guess I have no problem waiting if they build it and I get IUP and MyColor installed. Just gets frustrating when the dealership knows NADA!

But good to see others are getting a January date...

Dennis.

Dealers will do just about anything to sell a car or pacify the customer. Ive known people who got vins that are non-existant just to quiet them down for a week. Most salesmen will do ANYTHING to get the sale.

The local ford dealer is a good source of info about mustang related things. My "SVT Certified" salesperson told me my 03 cobra had 320 horsepower all aluminium engine.

So he underrated the car? I mean it’s really 390 hp, well all know that. How does underrating it net a sale? I mean yes he’s dumb but that doesn’t help him sell like you were saying above.

I guess I shouldn't worry too much. Wouldn't they have to tell you they changed the order to the new IUP package or get your OK on it? Still drives me wild that people who ordered after I did have had their cars built...

But that is life...someday she will come home to me, probably better if it is after the snow season!
