My '94 T Bird still has the original Ford battery. Car has 224,000 miles on it. Starts every time. It's been below zero here for the past few mornings - started right up. I even left it out all one winter and ... you guessed it ... started right up.
'05 Mustang has started OK so far.
'03 Corvette convertible had a bad battery from the factory. Would go dead over night, etc. Dealer put in a new, larger one and no trouble since.
Hope you with clicks and no growls get your cars checked and have no more problems.

I have a '90 Ranger, in June 2002 I was at a Home Depot and went to start the truck and the battery blew it's top (didn't hurt anything). That was the first time I realized it was the original battery. The truck only had about 75,000 miles, but just the time should have killed the battery. I've had two new ones since.

hmmm...I guess battery life is one of those things that if you never have a problem...you don't notice.
My 1991 Lumina still had the original battery. It did have the upgraded battery and alternator package. I attempted to trade it in on my mustang (just to get rid of it) and they offered $300. I laughed and sold it for $1100 the next day.
I left my iPod in my charging rack for 5 days in the stang without driving it...cranked fine...till the rear bolt sheared (see other post)..
Oh well...

I'm resurrecting this old thread since I just had the dead battery syndrome occur. We were away for 10 days and came home to find the battery dead and the driver's window totally open. The car was still locked and in place as we had left it. Our dealer's service dept has not heard of this occurring before but will check it out when I get it jumped and bring it up to them.
How have any of you fared that reported this problem previously? Rickturbo??? M1Rifle??? Bullittman????

I've killed the battery in mine twice, both by leaving the radar detector on. I didn't do this accidently, as I used to leave the detector on all the time in my '97 Cobra without incident. On this car, it killed the battery in about 7 or 8 days. I haven't had another incident since I've been good about shutting the detector off, but I did feel this was odd considering my past experience.
