what i hope is that the fog lamps are like the 99+ that can be turned on when the parking lights are on . nad not like my expedition where you have to have the headlights on before you can use the fog lamps
So you use them as Vanity lights, not Fog lights, right? For you, they are pure show?

Fog lights should be used for fog. Their light spread doesn't really do anything for a driver in normal (non-foggy) conditions. In addition, they help the regular low beams, and are NOT sufficient for nighttime driving alone. And you shouldn't run with high beams in the fog.

Therefore it is correct to have them only operate when the low beams are on.

But if you want to show off, then by all means, bypass the relays and show newbies you are cool, and show the old farts like me what you really care about:

Without posting the user description this it what it says about the fogs.
The fog lights can be operated with the light switch position in the running/parking light on position or in the headlights on position with high beams off.

Geez, could you imagine a GT coming at you with brights AND the fogs turned on? I can see why Ford made it where it can't be done.

And, why would you want these fogs on by themselves? Even as a "look at me" statement, it'll look kinda weird, don't you think? I mean, I thought the narrow headlight look was reserved for Saturns.

And THOSE things should be made illegal. I swear I've turned out in front of so many Saturns at night because their narrow lights made the car appear to be further away.

I don't care for the DRL's- What I was talking about was I have a dark sensor on it, and the headlights and fogs come one automatically in parking garages at night, rain etc. When I turn the car off, so do they. I also have daytime runners, because that's a GM thing- all of them do I think.
I never have to worry about leaving my lights on. Thats the single thing I like on my car.

Interesting... Ford includes Poseur Mode for the fog lamps!
