When I put my '05 away for the winter I bought glue traps and put them by the wheels, I also put poison traps around the garage and put dryer sheets in the exhaust tips and the engine bay. I have heard they stay away from dryer sheets. Fingers crossed now.

get a bucket of water filled about 3/4 of the way and hang a tasty morsel of cheese or peanut butter (this works better) over the bucket. The little buggers go after the bait and fall in, drowning. It works really good too.

unless you have pets you care about... leaving antifreeze in a small open container (the cap for instance) is a tasty and poisonous drink for them.

I was just goign to mention that...antifreeze has a sweet taste to it and it's deadly. just put a little antifreeze on some dog food or pb, and they won't be coming back anytime soon.
and drowning a mouse in a bucket of water? you guys are sick!...haha.

I realize it's a joke, but death by ethylene glycol (most anti-freezes) isn't any better than drowning. It causes kidney failure, and messes with the nervous system. Often times leads to a long, slow death.

Crazy rats in your garage could be scary, though. Their nervous system goes down, then they go wild and eat your tires or sommin' crazy like that.

I know. I was talking about the 'you guys are sick' comment being a joke.
As much as I don't like the idea of essentially torturing an animal to death, if I had a rodent problem I'd probably use whatever what easy and effective.

I'm using a Sonic Repeller under the Engine.
Moth ***** under the whole Car and in Air Filter Box.
Dryer Sheets inside and in the Trunk.
Also a Steel Cat( Baited ) in the Cover-All.
So far no Mice signs
Anti Freeze instead of Water works all Winter for the Bucket Trick.
I can't use it as there are Stray Cats Around the Area,
They are the main reason for lack of Mice.

Today I was checking over the motor in my GT and decided to check the air filter for fun. It only has 1500 miles on it, but why not. To my surprise the filter was 60% clogged with lint, paper and hair. The bottom of the filter holder contained about two handfulls of the same. The little guy crawled in through the air intake and made a nice little home for himself. No damage seen. Just thought I would pass it along to warn others to check your air filter.

It's not just rats that can cause havoc. The president of our local Mustang club took his F-150 to the dealer for an electrical problem. They wouldn't cover it under the factory warranty. It seems that a squirrel had gotten under the hood and had eaten some of the wiring. Cost $350 to repair it. Rodents of all types are evil and hard to get rid of.
