Damage to my 05
Sorry to hear about that. I feel the same way the first time a notice something wrong on a new car. Good luck and as other have said, the rocker panel shouldn't be too noticable. Just too bad that it was on the driver's side. Passenger side and maybe you could forget about it quicker.
Matt,
Call Mike @ Casco Tech (734) 547-2673. He has new take off rocker panels for sale-really reasonable, I bought a set from him for my car when I bought my new ft bumper and muffler for my 6 Coupe. A real good guy and easy to deal with.
Good Luck!

If you only damaged the piece that is removable I would simply buy a new one from a dealer who can sell you parts at wholesale prices and refinish it yourself.
Heck, you can get custom matched paint in spray cans from auto paint distributors- simply prep the panel, prime, paint and clearcoat it. Then bolt it on the car.
I can get pretty dam good results from spraycans on smaller areas- especially where you do not have to blend old & new paints together- like your rocker panel.
I bet you could get out of this for less than $200 plus you do not have to worry about your car sitting at a body shop picking up overspray and being test driven.

True I never thought of the auto body shop taking it for a "joy" ride. I am somewhat good with mechanics and I know this rocker panel isn't hard to take off and bolt back on. I am thinking about calling that guy listed above, I appreciate all of your information) to order one. the only thing I am not good at though is painting
. So I will have to get someone to paint it. I know how to prep it but not paint. I get too nervous (haha). has anyone else experienced anything damagewise to their rocker panels. I'm going to take a look at it in my garage when I get home.

Using a clearcoat system is easy. First apply a light coat of your color and let it dry. Sand that with 2000 grit paper and apply the clear. Use 3 coats- the first is a "tack" coat that is applied lightly- but enough to form a sticky base for the next two coats to adhere to. If you get runs in the clear simply sand them out after it's fry and buff with polishing compound.
You do not need to lay the remaining two clear coats on- you can simply layer them.
Give it a try

You could put them on my car, for safe keeping.

Hate to hear you messed up your car.
I don't know which is worse, hurting it or knowing that you hurt it.
Yesterday I parked at strip mall, on the end so only one car could park beside me on the passenger side. I open the door, sit down and reach to close my door. It won't budge! I had opened the door on top of the stupid landscaping bricks and it was stuck :bang: I had to get out and dig some of the dirt out so I could wiggle the bottom bricks enough to loosen the "hold" they had on my door. Talk about looking and feeling like an idiot.

I know this isn't the worst accident yet and I understand your situation, I just hope your wife was okay. But you know how everyone gets when they encounter their first fender bender / accident.

Awww that's ok
I've been watching items by a seller on eBay that has take off things from new Ford vehicles. You may want to check him out and perhaps email him to see if he has the rocker panel you need. His seller name is cascotech. Good luck and I hope your car gets fixed soon!
