I don't have my hopes up, but I'm curious as to how the system works.

I ordered v6 standard trans with IUP (silly me!)
I quickly discovered this was the lowest selling model, and that I'd have to wait. That's fine.
I ordered back in August. I know ford didn't get it then, but I'm curious if having ordered so long ago, that I would have some precedence over a car ordered more recently? Or was the car not technically 'ordered' until the manual trans hold was lifted.. meaning I just ordered, like, 2 weeks ago.

On a personal note, this IUP nonsense is really insane. Does this type of hold up happen frequently with billion dollar corporations? I mean, this is America, and we are all waiting many months for a car.
I feel like I'm in a bread line in the soviet union!

sorry, had to vent there.

a good day to all!

Dan

Production plans are made based on estimations from the marketing guys. In this case, I think it is the marketing guys who screw up.

In the official order guide you can read that Ford has projected 40% IUP orders. Turned out to be a lot more, I have heard 80% of the cars are ordered with the IUP.

Ford (and suppliers) will need some time to increase production of the IUP-parts.
