first dealer i worked at a salesperson went on a test drive and never came back alive and they had no idea who the person was
also if the person totals or smacks up the car you dont have to worry about him running from you and having no clue who he is
I DONT KNOW WHERE YOUR GOING but running a credit check without consent is ILLEGAL..big penalty. LOL
not everything a dealer does is with the intention of screwing you ....lol..ppl other than you need to earn food to eat too.

Here's an interesting problem.. I had a credit problem with my credit card company awhile back.. my father and I have the same first name, and they were reporting everything I was doing under my credit card to HIS credit report and not mine. Don't worry, I go it fixed... well, mostly. I have a a credit score of around 750 with both Equifax and Experian. TransUnion, however, still has me as having no credit (this is my first credit card).
So I called the credit card company talked to them again, and they resolved the problem with TransUnion (or so they SAY), BUT it will take at least one month to THREE MONTHS for TranUnion to update its records.
So my question is this - if I give my dealer credit reports from Experian and Equifax, will that be sufficent or am I screwed until TransUnion fixes my records?

Just a little help to you.. In the past I have paid CASH for nearly everything. That will hurt you badly. I went to get financed in 1990 and was declined, even though I was making 65K a year then.... Get a few loans, pay them on time, but get the lowest rate you can. I managed to get a 30 yr fixed house mortage rate at 4.12% and my current bank will loan me either an unsecured, or secured loan for 3.49% for up to 72 months. Fico is at 807, last I checked, keep the faith, it will get better!!!!!
