Creases in metal outside of window felt... someone stealing my car?

Washed the '08 today... my car is black so this clarifies any scratches or whatever I can't see when it's covered in grime.

I was driving it and looked in the drivers mirror, and to my horror discovered a pair of faint creases, just ahead of where the lock pin is, on the flat portion of the door skin just outside of where the outer window felt/moulding clips in.

Now, I'm pretty sure these weren't always there, as I would have noticed looking in the mirror at other times.

Are these from a wedge from some jerk trying to slim jim my door?

The creases are very faint and travel left and right (functional l&r, as you are sitting in the drivers seat.) Maybe some artifact of manufacture that I have never noticed?

Ughhh.

Sounds like attempted theft to me.

Wow. If it was attempted theft, I'm glad they didn't get it.

Very well could be...be sure to post a pic as Glenn mentioned. Reason being that I've noticed some very faint lines in that same area on both sides...

Please post a pic..... my car is black and I have noticed something very similiar (I think) to what you are describing. It looks sort of wrinkly..... I dont think my car has ever been a target of theft. I think its just the way these cars are made- FORD. I asked a friend of my with a legend lime stang, and he said he has the same thing. (its a bit wrinkly where the top of the door (somewhat flat part) meets the rubber/weather stripping crap, right?

Yeah, that's exactly it. I can't get pictures until tomorrow or friday (have to get cam, take pics, bring cam to work b/c I lost all the **** cords to connect the camera to the computer!).

Maybe they were always there! Man that would be great. LOL.

**** Fords!

I'll add that in response to this discovery I went out and flogged the car around town for a few hours last night.

Why would there be "creases"? I would think thieves would just break your window and take the car.

Mine too, it's from the spotwelder being alittle too hot causing expansion and contraction, alot of mustangs have it even the older models. For some reason it never got remedied!
