What's with the window bounce back
My 13 V6, and my 14 GT both do this, push auto up/auto down, and turn the ignition off, and on occasion, not always, one of the windows, could be LH could be RH, never both, and not every time, but sometimes, a window will either stop traveling, while the other continues, or, it will go the opposite direction, what's the deal?

I think it is due to the windows having to roll down partially when opening and closing a door. Mine does this a lot since I will be rolling the windows up and then my son will open his door killing the power and down it goes.

I have had this happen on my 2 previous trucks and the current Mustang, but not only when turning the ignition off. It happens to me right after I park and go to put the windows up before I shut the car down, or even at speed when putting the windows up to turn on the AC.
I have yet to be able to replicate the issue at the dealer with any of them, but it is so infrequent that I just don't let it bother me that much. In the winter, I contributed it to the difference in temperature and the motor trying to work a little harder, reaching the auto rollback as if something were blocking it from closing. Summer time though, I have no clue why it is doing it from time to time.

This is from my 2013 owners manual:
Bounce-Back
The window will stop automatically whileclosing and reverse some
distance if there is an obstacle in theway.
Overriding the Bounce-Back Feature
Pull up the window switch and hold withintwo seconds of the window
reaching the bounce-back position. Thewindow will travel up with no
bounce-back protection. The window willstop if the switch is released
before the window is fully closed.
Short Drop Glass (Front Windows)
This feature lowers the glass when eitherdoor is opened to improve door
efforts and sealing. The glass returns toits closed position when the
door is closed.
Re-Calibrating a Window
Note: Performshort drop re-calibration with the doors closed.
Re-calibrating with doors open will causethe window to continuously
bounce back.
If a window will not raise again when thedoor is closed, use the switch
to fully raise the window, then hold theswitch up for two seconds.
If a window will not lower when the door isopened:
1. Use the switch to fully lower the window, then hold the switch down
for two seconds.
2. Immediatelyafter releasing the switch, pull the switch up to fully raise

Probably why the owners manual for convertibles says to roll up the rears first. The fronts must encounter enough resistance to reverse direction when the rub the deal on the rears.

This doesn't exactly relate to what you are saying but I am just curious if anyone else's window does not fully go down all the way (stops maybe 1/2" from being completely closed) but if you press down on the window button 3 times is will go the rest of the way??? Always wondered why it does this...
