Cooper vs Nitto Tires

Tire ratings are soooo dayamn subjective. I almost bought Invo's this summer but i couldn't get a consistent impression one way or the other from all the reviews. So I stuck with what I knew, the 555 Extreme's. They're great tires, if not a little loud on road noise

Getting the Cooper's on tomorrow morning! Will post back results tomorrow.
Cecil I have read reviews and spoke to people who said the same as you.

well all i had to compare the invos to were the pirelli's that came on the car which sucked. i could be going 50-60 mph and floor it and it would burn the pirellis and then i got the invo and i could only burn the tires going about 25-30 and were so much better in rain.

Well I haven't driven much with these tires yet (50 miles total so far), but I'm liking them so far. Very quiet when driving and they handle very well. I definitely feel glued to the street now. Will have to wait for some rain or even snow to judge their weather ability.

I don't know if I'm late to the party or not... but whatever, I'm postin'.
I *LOVE* the Cooper RS3-As. Amazing rain tire, ya ask me, and plenty good grip in the dry. I can't even break them loose without *really* tryin'.
Mine are the 17s, though, can't say for any other size, but I am definitely buyin' another set (and 2010 convertible GT500 18" wheels) when these wear out.
Well, I say that about the wheels... but definitely the tires. Definitely. Love 'em.

The stock Pirellis on Awesome, and another fresh set after those wore out, and then these Coopers. Before that, some Coopers on the Tbird, was real happy with those, and I was a big fan of the old BFG Touring TAs on Mark VII and VIIIs. Fantastic tires on those cars.
These Coopers remind me a lot of those BFGs. They grip in the rain. They hook up on the dry pavement, and burning them out takes effort, which is fine with me. I'd rather leave you behind than play smoke wars. Bye!
Also, cornering, while there's understeer, is not even scary... to me. I freak people out in the passenger seat all the time with a quick 90... Heh.
But indeed, I have not tried tire after tire after tire. I don't have time or money for that. I do research. I look for the negatives as well as the positives. The Coopers won me over with both more positives than negatives, and a better price than any of them to boot. I was... rather skeptical about the claims, but not any more. Definitely awesome in my book. Unless you're tracking or dragging... I daresay that anyone will be hard pressed to be disappointed with these.
I've got about 20K on them, and they seem to be holding up well so far. Tread depth is still there, and they work as well as they did new, near as I can tell.
But that is just me. I encourage anyone to do their research and come up with their own conclusion. For the price/performance, *especially in the rain*, these things are totally worth it.

I'm kinda excited for for some rain to test them out lol. With my other tires, I've had to be very careful in the rain an drive rather slowly IMO so I wouldn't spin them. So I'm interested to see how well these go. But with your positive marks on them, it should be a good experience.

I ran 275-40-18 Nitto 555 Extremes for 4 years, they were phenomenal in dry and very well planted in the wet. My only gripe was having to balance them every 6 months, I would get a wobble around 65 mph. But currently they are 145$ on Discount Tire, not bad but I may try the Coopers on the GT 500 rims I am getting tomorrow, cant wait for supper....

Wow, you guys know that he probably already bought the tires 3 years ago? Maybe I shouldn't say anything because maybe he needs new ones by now.

As i said in Post #5 on 1/25/2013 i 'did' buy a set of Cooper Zeon RS3-A's a couple months later. I only have 4,500 miles on them but they are doing great. Good traction in the rain and on dry roads, with no more road noise than any other tire I've ever had. Maybe some of the other people who were thinking of getting the Coopers will post on how they are doing for them......
