Cooper vs Nitto Tires

So I'm in need of tires on my 2008 gt. Currently I have bf-goodwrench tires on it. I believe its the tires that came stock with it. One local shop to offer good pricing gave me these options:

1. Cooper Zeon RS3A: $732 40k mile warrant
2. Nexen CT672: $631 60k mile warranty
3. Nitto NT850+: $635 no tread warranty EDIT: according to http://nt850plus.com/Technology, this tire does have a tread warranty. Is that guaranteed where ever I buy the tire or do shops have their own?

Any suggestions? Just looking for overall all season tires.

Out of the 3 brands I would go with Nitto. Although I don't have a lot of knowledge on all season tires. I'm just basing it on what I know about the brands.

I have the Cooper tires and man, I was very surprised and impressed with the overall quality of the tire. Very quiet ride, grippy for an all season, and no issues in the wet

+1 for the Coopers, have them on mine and they are very solid, good handling tires.

I'm going with the Cooper Zeon RS3-A at the end of this summer. I can't find any bad reviews or bad test on these tires.

Yeah, the coopers seem to be the most popular. Apparently they're the desired tire for roush mustangs. Do you think they're worth the extra $100 though? $635 is a very good price I feel and they seem like good tires. AM seems to sell Nitto tires with a lot of their rims.

I think I bought mine from tirerack.com if you haven't bought them yet and I got a pretty good price on them although its slipping me exactly how much I paid at the moment.

it seems tirerack doesn't carry cooper tires anymore. I tried searching by brand and cooper isn't there.

No, I havent seen Coopers on there for at least a couple years. Did a fair amount of research on the Coopers as compared to whats on TireRack and against other popular brands and I settled on RS3-As & Ss. The Contis & Blizzaks sound better for bad weather, but I try not to take her out in snow/ice, so was just looking for a cold/wet performer and I couldnt find anything negative about them either; just great reviews. Not the same for other Cooper tires I ran across, but these were developed with Roush. Again, this is just from research, no experience yet, for what it's worth. (I figured I could do one winter on my stock Pirelli A/Ss so waiting for spring.) Google the articles; they're good reads.

I apologize I was mistaken, you are correct. My previous set was Kumho which I got from tirerack, but the Cooper tires were supplied by my garage. After 8 years they all run together anymore haha. In any case the Cooper's are light years beyond the Kumho's in quality.

With tires, "you get what you pay for". It's an old saying but extremely accurate. Most all the tires seem great initially but then the tread starts wearing down revealing all the cheaper qualities of the cheaper tires, from road noise to tramlining, etc...
I just bought a set of Goodyear Eagle GT (all-season) to replace my original BFG. They are much better and won't have the issues I mentioned when the tread gets to that 40-50% mark. Around $900 installed (includes tax, high speed balance, etc...).
Whatever you do just make sure the sidewall doesn't say 'Made in China'. I'm sure you value your life as much as anyone else.

just my .2's

This is just my 2 cents, but i run hankook evo v12's on my wife's charger it's the DD. We've gone all over the U.S, and i must say they handle awsome in curves, do extreamly well in the rain and are very sticky tires they hold there own. i currently run nitto 555's on my stang and will be replacing them very soon with the Hankook's. Like i said just one guys 2 cents, but i think they are the best bang fo your buck.

Which Kumho's were they? Ecsta ASX? I ask because I'm trying to gauge these Coopers against the Michelin Pilot Sports that I put on my car now for Oct - Mar. The michellins have been awesome for the last 3 years--I could get away with so much with those in the winter, but they're finally wearing out. The Ecsta ASX tires were pretty mediocre in snow/ice. Still better than the stock Pirelli's.

Not that it snows much in northern VA, but when it does they do such a crap job of handling the roads that I need all the traction I can get.

Yes they were the Ecsta's...the road noise had become unbearable for me and the tires didn't seem to maintain their grip after a certain point. I realize any tire can be like that, but these seemed to get very crappy all around not long after I had them.

Are the nittos from overseas? I'm pretty sure the coopers are USA made. Nexen I'm gonna avoid due to lack of reviews and brand recognition.

If you are looking for an all season tire, look at Goodyear Tripletred tires. I have them on both my 02 V6 and 07 GT. I've been pleased with them. they where about $850 a set but had a mail in rebate.

An excellent tire too!! Incredible tread life. I had them for over 40,000 miles on another car I owned a few years ago and they were just flawless.
They weren't available for my GT/CS so I went with the Eagle GT. I just 'exercised' them real good today after finally getting some dry weather. Just awesome!

I don't drive in bad weather. I am replacing my Nitto 555s with Invos. I hope they live up to the hype.

They look comparable to Michelin's PS2 which was confirmed by Nitto's own marketing and the reviews on thier site.

Man some of the reviews on the Invo's page and their rating system.

The Invo's look to be better handling tires than the 555's (which are comparable to BFG's KDWs and KDW2s or Sport Comps - at least the older design) but they rate the Motivos as handling right up there with the Invos and better than the 555's which I highly doubt.
