I'm sure that the 2009 body is already being developed.

Perhaps some of the ideas used in these renderings will be carried onto the reskin the same way that the "rambo" styling cues had influence on the 99-04 Mustangs.

I would have loved to see some of those things that were missed be incorporated into the 05 stang, the colored mirrors, integrated antenna, etc.

Interesting sketches. I love seeing those. I also like the wish list items for the most part.

Thank you very much for the 'spoiler delete' option!

Keep up the good work!

Some content we wanted were:
  • side marker repeaters incorporated into the horses on the fenders (see BMW Z8)
  • slingshot backlight (see 911, TT, 65 fastback)
  • CHMSL built into backlight
  • soft IP
  • soft door substrates
  • leather wrap on GT IP
Brad, could you explain the above (with words or pics). I don't know what an IP is or a CHMSL

Thanks

Thanks for the sketches. I personally am glad they didn't go with the swept back look for the headlights. I like the mean look of the production front end that curves downward. The swept back look is the way every car looks today and not having that look is one reason why the Mustang stands out. Just my thought. There are some nice things on the list that I wish they would have incorporated such as the integrated antenna, body colored rearview mirrors, and a mycolor that changes all the dash lights instead of just the driver's instruments. Because of that I basically used the Mycolor to adjust the lights to the exact same color as the rest of the dash. I had to mix colors to make the color the light green. The preset "green" is too dark. It would have been cool to have all the lights on the dash work with the Mycolor. But hey, all these things would make the car cost more. I think that the most important item that sells Mustangs is the amount of bang you get for the buck. It is a great car!

Great pics. I really like the back end of the cobra and the red mustang. I wish Ford had gone with one of these instead of the ugly one they have now.

Great drawings. We all would like the MyColor integrated in all the electronics. I just don't think it's realistic. That would mean the manufacture of the radio would have to do something different to incorporate the lights. As well as all the other lighted electronics that Ford does not produce. I just can't see it happening without $$$ being added to cost of car. Don't get me wrong, I'd probably pay the difference though.

leds sell for what 50 to 75 cent at our local electronics store ...it would cost auto companys what 1/2 of cent...i dont think it would add that much to the price........also they could of just included the preset factory colors.........

So what's a slingshot backlight?

I wish I had the talent (gift) of being able to capture a decent stick man.
Love the sketches and thanks for sharing them. Maybe we'll see some of the ideas in future stangs.
