Kzinti says several of us are on some kind of commodities hold, doesn't know what. All of us ordered 18" rims, but both kinds. Any ideas? I'm thinking something in the suspension...

That's a good guess. I'm on hold now too.

I just called our order processing center and she checked the latest dealer news bulletin which she said was updated today and there were no comments on Mustang holds nor has she heard of any.

Hey thanks for checking! Hopefully it's just a minor delay... There must be something to it though, cars with a blend date a week after mine are getting built.

How come there aren't any ford dealers up here in cow-hampshire as helpful as you? Mine won't even call the ERL, I always know more than him..

all the cars also had side airbags, and the 18" wheels were of various styles.

Mine doesn't have side airbags. I don't think it's the wheels. I'm sure I read somewhere that the 18" wheel option comes with "revised suspension tuning". Just thought it could be some suspension bits they're waiting for that are unique to the 18" options. There's nothing else differrent in the cars. I also noticed that all the window stickers I saw over at blue oval of cars getting built this week have the standard or upgrade 17" wheels, none have the 18s.

Could be dead wrong I'm just guessing, hoping that it's something minor. Don't want to take delivery of my car in December during a snowstorm

Can you tell if you are "On Hold" from the ERL system? I haven't received a VIN from my dealership yet, but my build week has been slipping. It was 9/26, then 10/3 and now I get:

"As of 10/5 your vehicle is scheduled to be built the week of 10/10 with an ETA of 11/05"

I have been waiting since March, so these last minute slips are starting to get to me.

Your ERL message sounds a lot like mine. I didn't know my car was delayed until Kzinti over at blue oval forums emailed the AAI plant my VIN along with like five others and said "what's up?". ERL doesn't tell you. Hopefully we'll all get good news in a day or two. Doesn't sound like a big deal since ISELLFORD can't find any info about it. Get the VIN from your dealer, they have it by now.

Thanks for the info, I'll call the dealership and get the VIN. I hope this is the week, I don't know if I can take another 1 week slip. Seven months is a long time to wait and to have second thoughts about this car. I have never owned a Ford, but took one look at the 2005 Mustang and decided I had to have one.

I admire your patience. Don't think I could have waited that long, judging by how insane I am in only 2 months

Don't have 2nd thoughts, it's a great car! I'm just going a little nuts 'cause my delivery week's inching closer and closer to road salt time, and it's going to bed for the winter then.

Kzinti posted this info over on BOF:

I sent off to the plant for information, and was informed that there was several items on commodity hold. To quote, "Mustang has engine, trans, axle, tire, wheel and condensor constraints.". The following is a list of items that MAY hold up your order (as reported by dealer bulletins):

MUSTANG (2006)
MED 18" Wheel (64E) U.S./CDN
MED GT Manual Transmission (99H, 44K) U.S./CDN
MED Total GT (99H) U.S./CDN
MED Anti-Theft System U.S./CDN
MED 18" Cast Wheel U.S./CDN

Trying to see what the dates for resolution of these holds will be.

More as it becomes available...
Looks like i'm a victim of two of those items.

Those look more like short supply / controlled commodities rather than hold items. I got a manual GT with anti-theft scheduled over the weekend for a customer.
