After struggling with my local dealership here in Dubai to get a copy of the DORA, i finally got my hands on a list of ALL the ordered cars in the last batch.
the list includes many codes and numbers, including the Dealer Reference Number, the VIN, and something called PCV.
unfortunately even though i'm told my car should be built already, the VIN of my car is not yet on the list (the list is 2 months old) so i have no proof of that.
they promised they'd get me the VIN ASAP so i can give the ERL a call and see where i stand, but i'm not sure how long that would take.. and you know what it's like to wait while left in the dark :S

now my question is, as it seems each car in the list has a unique Reference Number.. is there anyway i can track the car using that or am i out of luck?
perhaps one of the ford sales people (ISELLFORD.. are you reading this? ) could help?

Tracking by VIN is the harder method.

What you need is dealer ID, order #, and vehicle type.

The PCV number containts the vehicle type (1st 3 digits) = T82
And the year: 06

Looks like "dealer ref" is the order number. Maybe. Those may be three entries for the same car, in which case the order number might be 0031.

So all that's left is determining the dealer ID, which is on the window stickers of the cars, it's 5 digits with a letter in there somewhere, something like 12A345. I tried the fleet website which is useful for US dealers, didn't see one for Dubai.

Well if you were lucky the 60031 on the back end of the pcv could be the dealer number, since it is the same in all orders you have. Then the t82 is the body style, the reference number could be your order number the four digit number. This would all you need to call erl lady if you want you could try and see what it says. You can track by order number which is four digits, or vin. good luck, dealer reference is 5 digits, order id is 4 digits, and t82 is body style. have fun

 

I does look like you got 3 copies of the same order. I do not know what the term PCV stands for but it does look like your order number is the 0031 number. Unfortunately without the dealer code you can not track it.

 

it's the same for the 3 cars i posted above, as they're coming with the exact same specs..
however the list has over 40 cars, and there are over 10 unique combinations of numbers in the PCV.
i believe the dealer number would have to be the same throughout all the orders, regardless of the ordered options and details.. don't you agree?

 

i'm quite confident these are 3 distinct orders, after all the PCV seems to change with the car options.
i.e, the there are 2 other tungsten greys with auto transmissions, those have a different PCV than that i have posted ealier..
the two cars have the same PCV nonetheless
so it seems to me is that the PCV is some sort of number that sums up all the options on order.
i'll see if i can find the dealer number today, as i'll be heading there in an hour or so.

on the other hand, is it possible to lookup the dealer number somehow?

i know my mustang should be built by now, as per the order sheet having build month of SEP 2005, but i'd do anything to know when exactly she was born, and when it'll be packed and made ready for the long journey to Dubai
