Which comes first? Longtubes or Stall?

Im deciding between my next 2 mods. I'm either doing longtubes or I'm going for a higher stall TC. Which one would would be more likley to knock off about .2 - .3 in the 1/4 if either? I've done a lot of research and it seems more people do longtubes than stalls. Is this because most people don't race their auto's or because the longtubes are the better performance for price/work?

Thanks.

Ooops - This was suppossed to be in the GT Performance forum. I feel like a newb...

Well I don't own an '05+ auto but have owned several other auto Mustangs including my '92 and I would hands-down install the converter before longtubes.

Converter first!

You'll cut your launch times way down. Keep in mind you'll need real sticky rubber on the rears as the stock tires will break loose to easily.

Trust me get the converter first. LT's don't really make much difference on a stock motor, the converter will probably cut your times by .4 or .5 by itself.

I agree somewhat, If you redo the whole exhaust system : Lt's, X pipe, hi flow cats and axle backs along with a CAI and tune. That will make a diff. but to go with the LT's only....not.

Check out this thread on Doug's new auto tune before jumping on the converter replacement.

Other things to shave off some time is go with an alum drive shaft, UDP's and some nice sticky tires.
