Color question

thanks again boomer, it does seem to look quite metallic. I was dead set on silver with red leather, but I'll have to wait to see the car in person, so I can tell what mineral grey, satin silver look like up close. I'll definitely check out windveil as well, as everyone who has seen it raves about it, though I'm not too sure yet. Otherwise unfortunately I'll have to wait until the '06 model goes on sale to get titanium. BTW....anyone know the expected release of the '06s??? aug. 05??? sep. 05??? please help.

Yeah, that black on silver looks sweet. My only problem with that is mental - I'm a CHIEFS fan and the RAIDERS are black and silver. I just can't handle my car reminding me of the CHIEF-FAN arch enemies. HAHAHAHAHAHA!!
Sad but true.

I went and looked at Satin Silver on the '04 today at the dealership. It is gorgeous IMO. It sparkled and shined in the sun. Looked great and not at all dull like some of the pictures. I know black, red, and blue are the most popular colors, but check out the silver... it looks great too!
I think silver doesn't photograph well sometimes, but the picture below shows it off a little better.

thanks jgsmuzzy, I thought I had read somewhere that the '04 was "
silver metallic" and not "satin silver" guess I'll have to wait until '06 so I can get my titanium w/red leather int. :bang:
btw: excellent to see a mate from across the pond that is such a fan of the true american sportscar!

Satin Silver was an 02 Mustang colour...it changed after to SilverMetallic
However not sure if Satin was used as a first run cobra colour...
Kinda like Mineral gray was....then taken away mid year for DSG

Different shades....but they look 'close'
Satin Silver is code --> TL
Silver Metallic is code --> YN
I compared it to the Silver metallic on an F150 and it was close, but deeper/darker (not by much...but it was) and seemed to have more metal flake

HAHA.... GREAT! I've ordered a Satin Silver and I STILL don't know what it looks like! Well the "silver metallic" sure was pretty anyway, so if they are close, I'm sure I'll still be pleased.
Thanks for the info, guys!

I'd like to see Dark Shadow gray on Satin silver, i think that would look good, if you not going for the typical 'black'

Boomer,
Thanks for answering all my questions about Satin Silver and showing me the great pics of your very own! You can really tell how nice the sun reflects off the paint in the top pic. Yes, it sets me at ease to see some good pics of the color... I know I'll be pleased when I see it on my '05 in person. :worship:

No problemo man...
Theres only one reason I'm not getting SS again...I never like to get the exact same colour twice. Just looking for something different.

That Titanium from the show has great depth. It is, in part, probably due to show quality paint job. It probably has more clear coats on it, as well as possibly an intermediate coat between the Titanium and the clears (show cars will sometimes have a layer with a mix of color plus clear, under 2-3 clear coats).
Is it true our cars basically only come with 1 maybe 2 coats? A co-worker said that more is better and since just about every dealer has a body shop that can apply more coats...and free. Is that true and is there any reason to do that.
And:
boomer-nice car
chris-why nite titanium silver for the stripes.
