I just got my build week today. She's being built the week of October 4th with the last 5 of the VIN as 06620. I ordered 7/30.

I called today to see if I could add active anti-theft after seeing the prices, and found out I am scheduled. My dealer said he may still be able to amend my order. Anyone know if the order can be changed after scheduling? I would expect that it can't.

Yeah...once i saw the prices I was wishing that I had ordered the 17" machined wheels, anti theft system, & side airbags. They wouldn't add that much to the price. I did contact my dealer to see if I could add them to the order and he said probably, but I don't think mine has been scheduled yet.

That really bums me out. I ordered mine on 7/26. Last night the dealer said his original alottment will not be in until mid-nov and he does not have a build date for me yet.

Sweet my Last digets are 06615 so I'm going to guess that my car will be built the same week, but my dealer has not told me that yet. I didn't ask for a week he just told me he would give me a date when he knows it before the end of the week

I read on another post around here that the VIN numbers are random and they are not built near each other anymore. This was started a while back because people realized that cars with close VINs had keys that could start each other.

that is more correct than not however the are closer to order than you might thing mainly for if there was ever a recall notice they have to know what was bulit and when. So car xxx - xxx on this date and this date at this plant are the recalled units they will not issue a list of 30,000 VIN numbers for whatever the time of production they are rcalling. there are jumps for sure but for the most part they are very very close in number for reasons like that, tracking and various other interal ford matter as it was explained to me.

Yes, a minor option like ant-theft can usually be added 3 weeks ahead of build. The dealer may need to call the regional office to get it forced through if the computer won't take it.

Good news and bad news on adding an option to my scheduled order:

The order change to add active anti-theft was accepted

:bang: The Ford gods punished me by bumping my build week from 10/04 to 10/11 :bang:
